On November 28, 2023 in St. Petersburg at JSC Admiralty Shipyards (part of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation - USC), a solemn ceremony of raising the flag and handing over to the Navy of the Russian Federation a large diesel-electric submarine B-608 Mozhaysk (factory number 01618) of project 06363 took place. This is the fifth Project 06363 submarine built for the Pacific Fleet out of six ordered. The ceremony was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

Recall that the contract for the construction of a series of six large diesel-electric submarines of project 06363 for the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy between the Ministry of Defense of Russia and JSC Admiralty Shipyards was signed on September 7, 2016 within the framework of the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2016". Under the terms of the contract, the first ship was to be delivered to the customer by November 25, 2019, and the construction of the entire series was planned to be completed in 2022.
Previously, Admiralty Shipyards built six Project 06363 submarines for the Black Sea Fleet under contracts in 2010 and 2011, commissioned by the Russian Navy in 2014-2016. Project 06363 was developed by JSC "TSKB MT "Rubin" (St. Petersburg) and is a modernization of projects 877 and 636.
The laying of the first two boats B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and B-603 Volkhov (factory numbers, respectively, 01614 and 01615) of project 06363 for the Pacific Fleet was carried out at Admiralty Shipyards on July 28, 2017. The B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky lead boat was launched on March 28, 2019, entered factory sea trials on August 16, 2019 and was delivered to the Russian Navy on November 25, 2019.
The second boat B-603 "Volkhov" was launched on December 26, 2019, entered factory sea trials on July 18, 2020 and was handed over to the fleet on October 24, 2020. Since August 2021, the submarines B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and B-603 Volkhov, accompanied by the new corvette Gremyashchy of Project 20385, have made an inter-fleet crossing from the Baltic through the Mediterranean Sea, the Suez Canal and the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Fleet base, arriving in Vladivostok on November 30, 2021.
The official laying of the third and fourth submarines B-602 "Magadan" and B-588 "Ufa" (factory numbers, respectively, 01616 and 01617) under this contract was made on November 1, 2019. The Magadan submarine was launched on March 26, 2021, entered factory sea trials on June 25, 2021, and was commissioned into the Navy on October 12, 2021. On August 6, 2022, the Magadan submarine left the Baltic for the transition to the Far East, and after passing the Baltic Straits, the Northern and Norwegian Seas, arrived in the Polar, and then made the transition along the Northern Sea Route, arriving on October 9, 2022 at the base in Vladivostok and becoming the third boat of project 06363, which entered in the composition of the TOP.
The Ufa submarine was launched on March 31, 2022. The boat entered factory sea trials on June 25, 2022 and was commissioned into the Russian Navy on November 16, 2022.
On August 23, 2021, Admiralty Shipyards JSC hosted html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">the ceremony of laying the fifth and sixth submarines B-608 Mozhaysk (factory number 01618) and Yakutsk (factory number 01619) under this contract. The Mozhaysk submarine was launched on April 27, 2023, entered factory sea trials on August 23, 2023 and is now commissioned.
In November 2023, there were reports that the Ufa and Mozhaysk submarines could make an inter-fleet transition from the Baltic to the Pacific Fleet after November 2023 or as early as 2024 along the "southern" route through the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean.
On August 25, 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the construction of another large submarine of project 06363 (according to preliminary data, it was named Petrozavodsk), and on August 16, 2022, a contract for the construction of three more submarines of project 06363.
In 2023, there were reports that a series of six large diesel-electric submarines of project 06363 is also planned for the Northern Fleet, and that "the decision on construction has already been made, but the contract has not been signed," and its implementation "will not begin until 2024." It is reported that the lead submarine of this type for the Northern Fleet is supposed to be named "Mariupol".
