As reported, on July 15, 2022, the towing of the Anatoly Shlemov minesweeper (factory number 527) of project 12700 (code "Alexandrite") built at JSC Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant (SNSZ, part of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation - USC) from St. Petersburg to its base on the Pacific Coast began fleet. The passage will pass through the Northern Sea Route. The minesweeper was launched at the SNSZ on November 26, 2021 and has so far passed only mooring tests, and has not started factory sea trials. Factory and state tests of "Anatoly Shlemov" will be carried out already in the Pacific Ocean. This is the seventh Project 12700 minesweeper built.
Built by JSC "Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard" for the Russian Navy, the minesweepers "Anatoly Shlemov" (factory number 527, tail number "651", in the foreground) and "Peter Ilyichev" (factory number 526, tail number "543", in the background) of project 12700, transferred by tugs from St. Petersburg-St. Petersburg to the place of basing in the Pacific Fleet. Recall that a little earlier, on July 11, 2022, the towing of the previous minesweeper of this project "Pyotr Ilyichev" (factory number 526), built at this enterprise, also began from the SNSZ to the place of basing on the Pacific Fleet in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Unlike the Anatoly Shlemov, the Pyotr Ilyichev minesweeper has passed factory running and State tests in the Baltic, so it is expected that after the delivery of the Pyotr Ilyichev to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, only a control ship will be put to sea there, after which the transfer documents will be signed and the ship will be commissioned into the Russian Navy.
On July 26, the minesweepers "Pyotr Ilyichev" and "Anatoly Shlemov" towed to the Pacific Fleet met in Belomorsk, the final destination of the White Sea-Baltic Canal before entering the White Sea. On July 27, "Pyotr Ilyichev" was brought from there to Arkhangelsk. Apparently, the towing of both minesweepers along the Northern Sea Route will also be carried out jointly, with the arrival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky approximately by the end of September.
The Pyotr Ilyichev minesweeper designed for the Pacific Fleet (factory number 526), built at the SNSZ, became the sixth ship of the 12700 project. It was laid down at the SNSZ on July 25, 2018, launched on April 28, 2021 and has been on trials in the Baltic Sea since November 2021. The minesweeper Anatoly Shlemov (factory number 527) became the seventh ship of the 12700 project. It was laid down at the SNSZ on July 12, 2019 and launched on November 26, 2021.
Earlier, the minesweeper Yakov Balyaev (factory number 525), built on the SNSZ, was transferred to the Pacific Fleet in a similar way. The ceremony of its laying was performed at the SNSZ on December 26, 2017, the launch was carried out there on January 29, 2020. From August 3 to October 22, 2020, the minesweeper Yakov Balyaev was transferred from Kronstadt around Europe to Murmansk and then by the Northern Sea Route to Vladivostok for factory sea trials and State tests. The transfer was made by the sea tug "Antey" of the Russian company LLC "Northern Alliance". Factory sea trials of the minesweeper Yakov Balyaev were launched in Vladivostok on November 12, 2020 and on December 26, 2020, the ship joined the Navy there.
In total, five Project 12700 minesweepers have been built and transferred to the Russian Navy at the SNSZ - "Alexander Obukhov" (factory number 521, commissioned by the Navy on December 9, 2016), "Ivan Antonov" (factory number 523, commissioned on January 26, 2019), "Vladimir Emelyanov" (factory number 524, commissioned on December 28, 2019), "Yakov Balyaev" (factory number 525, html"target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> commissioned on December 26, 2020) and "Georgy Kurbatov" (factory number 522, commissioned on August 20, 2021). The minesweeper Alexander Obukhov is part of the Baltic Fleet, the minesweeper Yakov Balyaev is part of the Pacific Fleet, and the minesweepers Ivan Antonov, Vladimir Yemelyanov and Georgy Kurbatov are part of the Black Sea Fleet.
The construction of minesweepers of this project "Lev Chernavin" (factory number 528, laid down on July 24, 2020), "Afanasy Ivannikov" (factory number 529, laid down on September 9, 2021) and "Polar" (factory number 530, laid down on June 12, 2022) continues at the SNSZ.
At the laying ceremony of the minesweeper Yakov Balyaev on December 26, 2017, the then deputy head of the Russian Navy's Shipbuilding Department, Captain 1st Rank Mikhail Krasnopeev, said that the Russian Navy expects to receive 10 ships of Project 12700 by 2027 [that is, according to the State Armament Program for 2018-2027].
