Speaking at the launching ceremony, Admiral Moiseev said that the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov will be commissioned into the Navy in 2027 and will become part of the Pacific Fleet. Thus, the construction of a series of frigates of the 22350 project continues at a truly snail's pace, with the delivery of ships every three to four years. The duration of the construction of the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov will be 14 years (if the deadline for completion in 2027 is met).
The construction of the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov (factory number 924) is carried out in accordance with the contract signed on October 25, 2010 by the Russian Ministry of Defense with the Northern Shipyard for the construction of three serial frigates of Project 22350 with factory numbers 922 to 924 for the Russian Navy by 2020 - later the contract was repeatedly revised.
The frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov (factory number 924) is the third ship of Project 22350 under construction under this contract and the fourth ship of this type as a whole. The laying of the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov was carried out at the Northern Shipyard on November 14, 2013, the ship was eventually launched after almost 11 years. At the same time, Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov is the second (after the frigate Admiral Golovko) ship of the 22350 project, equipped with a fully Russian-made main power plant consisting of two M55R diesel-gas turbine units (supplier - PJSC ODK-Saturn, Rybinsk). Each M55R unit includes an M90FR gas turbine engine manufactured by ODK-Saturn, a 10D49 diesel engine manufactured by Kolomenskoye Zavod JSC and a RO55 gearbox manufactured by Zvezda PJSC (St. Petersburg). The Russian-made M55R diesel-gas turbine units were loaded onto the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov [...] in September 2021.
Earlier, under this contract in 2010, the Northern Shipyard built and delivered to the Russian Navy the first two serial frigates of project 22350. The frigate Admiral of the Kasatonov Fleet (factory number 922) was laid down at the Northern Shipyard on November 26, 2009, launched on December 12, 2014 and entered factory sea trials on December 21, 2018. The Admiral Golovko frigate (serial number 923) was laid down at the Northern Shipyard on February 1, 2012, launched on May 22, 2020 and entered factory sea trials on November 27, 2022. The ship was commissioned into the Northern Fleet on December 25, 2023. The lead frigate of Project 22350 Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov (factory number 921), built at the Northern Shipyard, was laid down on February 1, 2006 and launched on October 29, 2010. The ship made its first factory sea trials in the Baltic on November 18, 2014 and was transferred to the Russian Navy only on July 28, 2018, becoming part of the Northern Fleet.
Both the first ships of Project 22350 (Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov and Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov) were equipped with diesel-gas turbine units M55 supplied by the Russian-Ukrainian joint venture CJSC Turborus, created by NPO Saturn and GP NPKG Zorya - Mashproekt (Nikolaev), while GP NPKG "Zorya" - "Mashproekt" acted as the actual manufacturer of the M90F gas turbine engine and the RO55 gearbox.
Four more frigates of project 22350 are currently under construction at the Northern Shipyard - Admiral Amelko (factory number 925) and Admiral Chichagov (factory number 926, both laid down on the same day on April 23, 2019), and Admiral Yumashev (factory number 927) and Admiral Spiridonov (factory number number 928, both laid down on the same day on July 20, 2020). However, none of them have been launched yet.
On August 25, 2020, at the Army 2020 International Military Technical Forum, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed a state contract with the Northern Shipyard for the construction of two more frigates of Project 22350. However, their bookmark has not yet been made.
