As reported on December 29, 2023, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec State Corporation), its enterprises in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Ulyanovsk, as part of the fulfillment of the state defense order in 2023, manufactured and handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense new production aircraft of operational tactical aviation Su-57, Su-35S, Su-34, Su-30SM2, Il-76MD-90A military transport aviation, as well as Yak-130 combat training aircraft. At the end of December, the branch of PJSC IL Aviastar handed over another IL-76MD-90A aircraft, completing deliveries this year in the interests of military transport aviation. The company increased its output by 20%.

The fifth IL-76MD-90A military transport aircraft built in 2023 at the Ulyanovsk branch of PJSC Il - Aviastar (part of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec State Corporation) and transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces (assumed registration number RF-78672, registration numbers of the aircraft in the picture are retouched). Also in the press release of the KLA it is reported:

JSC Tupolev fulfilled its obligations under the program for the modernization and production of Tu-160M strategic missile carriers, and work was also carried out on the repair of Tu-22M3 long-range aircraft.

The branch of PJSC UAC - NAZ Sokol has completed work on the modernization of MiG-31 interceptor fighters.

"Russian defense industry enterprises, including aviation ones, are working at full capacity and fully fulfilling their obligations under the state defense order, supplying equipment to the Russian Armed Forces on time. Thus, the UAC enterprises in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Ulyanovsk, as part of the implementation of the State Budget in 2023, manufactured and handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense new production aircraft of operational tactical aviation Su-57, Su-35S, Su-34, Su-30SM2, Yak-130 and military transport aviation Il-76MD-90A. I would like to note that the Coordination Council under the Government of the Russian Federation for ensuring the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, other troops, military formations and bodies controls the solution of issues related to ensuring the needs of the Russian Armed Forces in reliable and highly efficient equipment," said Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

The most important area of work is the restoration and maintenance of serviceability of aircraft, the performance of factory repairs of aircraft equipment, units and assemblies, the purchase of new components to ensure the smooth functioning of the entire fleet of combat aircraft.

The production capabilities of the UAC enterprises fully ensure the fulfillment of all tasks.

"UAC enterprises fulfilled their obligations within the framework of the state defense order under the contracts of the current year on time. In a number of positions, we have ensured the supply of military equipment ahead of schedule. We are ensuring the production of fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft at an increasing pace. We have increased the volume of production of military transport aircraft. We continue to fulfill the tasks of strategic aviation programs. Production volumes for tactical aircraft have been increased by 30 percent. Our multifunctional complexes show their advantages in real combat conditions. In addition, feedback from the operation allows our engineers and designers to quickly improve aviation equipment and ensure modernization at a higher technological level," said Yuri Slyusar, General Director of PJSC UAC.

In the new year, the task is to ensure the rhythmic production and supply of new aircraft, which are particularly in demand by the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as maintaining the serviceability and operational restoration of airworthiness of aircraft in the conditions of ITS implementation.

It is also planned to further increase the production of military transport aircraft, including laying the foundations for the creation of promising VTA super-heavy and light aircraft classes.

In 2023, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) handed over to the Ministry of Defense six military transport Il-76s assembled at the Ulyanovsk plant, with plans to increase production to 18 vehicles per year, UAC CEO Yuri Slyusar said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

"The Ministry of Defense will need a huge number of these aircraft in the coming years. The production plan is to reach at least 18 aircraft per year in Ulyanovsk, six were commissioned this year, it's worth a lot," said Slyusar. According to him, the IL-76 is the main vehicle providing logistics and cargo delivery during the special operation. Slyusar recalled that previously these machines were held in Tashkent. Those aircraft that are being assembled in Ulyanovsk have received 70 new systems, new engines and new avionics.

The General director of the UAC praised the Ulyanovsk plant for six Il-76s, because before that it had practically not produced serial equipment. "It was important for him to accelerate, to join the team again, to join the family of serial factories… To deliver six vehicles this year in the interests of the Ministry of Defense is a great job, thank them very much for this," added Slyusar.

From the bmpd side, we point out that in this way the Russian Aerospace Forces were transferred (according to available information, on December 24) the sixth IL-76MD-90A military transport aircraft built in 2023 at the branch of PJSC Il - Aviastar (as part of the UAC) in Ulyanovsk, which has the assumed registration number RF-78673. According to known data, it was pumped out in Ulyanovsk on November 26, 2023 and made its first flight on December 3. This is the 24th aircraft of this type built overall (including the prototype).

Earlier, on May 30, 2023, the first Il-76MD-90A aircraft manufactured in Ulyanovsk this year with registration number RF-78668 (assumed serial number 0303) was [...] transferred [...] to the Russian Aerospace Forces, on August 11, the second aircraft with the assumed registration number RF-78669 (assumed serial number 0304) was transferred, on October 4, the third was transferred The aircraft with the alleged registration number RF-78670 (alleged serial number 0305), on October 18, the fourth aircraft with the alleged registration number RF-78671 was [...] handed [...] over, and on December 21, the fifth aircraft with the alleged registration number RF-78672 was handed over.

The aircraft that has now been delivered has apparently become the seventh, built under a 2020 contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense for the construction of 14 Il-76MD-90A aircraft by Aviastar until 2028. Recall that initially the construction of IL-76MD-90A aircraft at Aviastar was carried out under a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense dated October 2012 for the production of 39 IL-76MD-90A units in the amount of 139.42 billion rubles. Due to the strong delay in the implementation of the contract and the increase in the actual cost of aircraft, in May 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense renegotiated the contract with Aviastar for the supply of IL-76MD-90A military transport aircraft on new terms. Under the new conditions, under the old contract of 2012, the plant was now supposed to deliver a total of 13 Il-76MD-90A aircraft (the contract was eventually completed with the delivery of an aircraft with serial number 0301 in 2022), and from 2021 a new contract for the supply of 14 such aircraft by 2028 was to enter into force - the first board built on it was 0302 (RF-78667), commissioned at the end of 2022.

In 2022, the Aviastar plant handed over five Il-76MD-90A aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense, and now in 2023 it has handed over six such aircraft.
