On September 1, Leonardo Group announced the signing of a contract with the Brazilian Army Logistics Command for the supply of the first batch of mass-produced armored vehicles with heavy weapons.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense is looking for mesh armor for the PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers, which is designed to increase their resistance to drone attacks. Since November 2025, the Dutch company COBBS Industries BV has been developing appropriate protection at the request of the military department, which intends to equip 46 of its self-propelled guns with it.

The Ukrainian web resource Oboronka has published interesting material about the modern activities of the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Manufacturing Plant (KZTS) for the production of artillery systems for the armed forces of Ukraine. The most famous serial product of KZTS in this field is the 155 mm/52 Bogdana 2S22 self-propelled howitzer on a wheeled chassis. Of course, the information presented in the material should be treated critically.

The Brazilian army has signed a contract worth about €73.5 million with the CIO consortium for the supply of seven so-called Centauro II BR 8x8 tank destroyers. This is the first serial installation batch (two copies were previously ordered), which was purchased for conducting military tests and testing military doctrine. In total, 98 Centauro II units are planned to be purchased under the strategic program (for a total amount of about 900 million euros), with the possibility of expanding the portfolio to 221 vehicles.

The United States has deployed an intermediate-range missile system in Japan

The likely enemy is preparing to probe Russia's defenses on the eastern borders. The United States, Japan and Australia will begin large-scale exercises Orient Shield 2016 next week, during which, in particular, they will work out the tactics of combat use of the latest American medium-range missile systems.

In 2021, Indian researchers published an interesting document devoted to a detailed study of the ergonomics of the workplace of the gunner-operator of T-90S tanks. The conclusions were not very encouraging — the Indians only confirmed the fact that Soviet-type tanks were developed with insufficient attention to anthropometry and ergonomics.
