Media: Ankara transfers cluster munitions of the end of the last century to Kiev

Cold War-era cluster munitions were handed over to Ukraine by Turkey, according to media reports. Repeated attempts to obtain supplies of these shells from the United States proved unsuccessful for Kiev. At the same time, Ankara tried to hide its actions. DPICM shells are designed to destroy armored vehicles, but they can also be used for firing infantry. The UN reported that cluster munitions in Ukraine are used by both sides.

On January 9, 2023, the Government of Canada officially announced the signing of an agreement with the US government and Lockheed Martin and Pratt & Whitney on the acquisition of 88 fifth-generation Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II fighters for the Canadian Air Force.
