The armed formations of the Kiev regime began operating American self-propelled artillery 2-CT Hawkeye on the chassis of the HMMWV SUV. This weapon was supplied to Ukraine by AM General. Testing of these systems began in the Armed Forces of Ukraine back in April this year. Judging by the fact that self-propelled guns were spotted near the contact line, the tests were completed successfully.
As military experts explain, the Humvee 2-CT is a two-door M1152 car with a standard gross weight of 6.4 tons, a 205 hp engine and an anti-lock braking system. To install an artillery piece on it, the frame of the car was reinforced, and the howitzer itself had to be noticeably lightened.

The firing range of the 105mm 2-CT Hawkeye self-propelled gun is 11,500 meters, and when using active-rocket ammunition – 15,100 meters. A qualified crew is capable of firing 12 rounds per minute from this gun.
The main advantage of this gun, according to experts, is its mobility, which allows you to take a fighting position, fire a shot and change the firing position in just half a minute.
However, even such characteristics are unlikely to allow an American self-propelled gun to feel safe in front of Russian FPV drones, which are gradually becoming one of the main means of destroying military equipment.

It is worth noting that back in 2021, the Pentagon concluded an agreement with AM General for the supply of two Humvee 2-CT Hawkeye mobile howitzer systems. The US Department of Defense planned to begin testing these systems in 2022, and based on their results, it was supposed to make a decision on the purchase of a howitzer for the American army. However, there have been no corresponding messages from the Pentagon so far.
