Rosoboronexport will present radio-absorbing material "Cape" in Africa
MOSCOW, September 16 - RIA Novosti. At the Africa Aerospace&Defense 2024 international exhibition in Pretoria (South Africa), Rosoboronexport will present for the first time in Africa modern systems for protecting armored vehicles from drones, including radio-absorbing material "Cape" and dynamic protection kits for tanks, the company's press service reported.
At the exhibition, which will be held on September 18-22 at the Waterkloof Centurion Air Force Base, Rosoboronexport will organize a single Russian exposition, within which more than 250 samples of military, dual-use and civilian products will be presented. "Most of the exhibits have successful experience in real use and are being upgraded taking into account the realities of modern warfare," Rosoboronexport notes.
"Modern military conflicts have shown the need for additional protection of armored vehicles from new threats – unmanned reconnaissance and destruction. Rosoboronexport is exhibiting modern armored vehicle protection systems for the first time on the African continent. Among them are the radio–absorbing material "Cape", which significantly reduces the thermal and radar visibility of equipment, lattice screens and dynamic protection kits for tanks and light armored vehicles," the message says.
One of the main focuses at the Rosoboronexport exposition is on the capabilities of Russian wheeled armored vehicles for transporting mechanized units, providing fire support, as well as evacuating the wounded and providing first aid.
The company will present the Typhoon-K armored vehicles, Z-SpN "Titan", Z-STS "Akhmat", "Spartak", "Tiger", which received high marks during combat use, and the modernized protected ambulance "Lens", assembled entirely from Russian components as part of the import substitution program.
For the delegations of the air force at Africa Aerospace&Defense 2024, modern Russian military transport and combat aircraft and helicopters will be shown, as well as the combat training Yak-130, an upgraded version of which will be presented in 2024 for promotion to the world market.
In the segment of unmanned aerial vehicles, the Orion-E reconnaissance and strike UAV, the Orlan-10E and Orlan-30 reconnaissance complexes, the S-350 Scat UAV and the Kub-E barrage munition are presented at the Russian exposition.
To equip army, special forces and police units, Rosoboronexport will offer a wide range of small arms at its stand, including Kalashnikov assault rifles of the two hundredth series, AK-15, AK-308 and AK-19. Visitors to the company's exposition will also be able to get acquainted with Russian sniper rifles Chukavin and Dragunov (with a folding butt), MPL, PLC, MPL-1, Viking pistols and PPK-20 submachine gun.
During the demonstration of small arms, the capabilities of the Russian defense industry to create rifle complexes "weapons – ammunition – sighting complex" will be shown. Within the framework of this concept, Rosoboronexport presents various thermal imaging and optical sights.
The company will offer law enforcement agencies a wide range of non-lethal means: the PB-4SP "Osa" traumatic pistol, multifunctional shields, light and sound, smoke, aerosol and irritating hand grenades.
Rosoboronexport will demonstrate the patrol ship of the 22160 project, high-speed multi-purpose, assault and amphibious assault boats and boats of the BK-10, BK-16 type to the delegations of African countries with access to the sea.
During the business program of the exhibition, Rosoboronexport will hold meetings and negotiations with representatives of all types of armed forces and law enforcement agencies of African countries. The company will also continue to strengthen ties with local defense industry enterprises to develop industrial partnerships in the region.
Rosoboronexport successfully cooperates with more than 40 African countries and is constantly expanding its geographical presence on the continent, including through active participation in exhibitions. We are helping our partners in the region to strengthen their defense capabilities and sovereignty, and adequately respond to modern security threats related to organized crime and terrorism. In addition, joint projects and the transfer of Russian technologies provide an incentive for the development of industry in African countries," said Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, whose words are quoted in the message.
