By August of this year, several countries had joined the Czech Republic's project to provide the Armed Forces with ammunition, which contributed various amounts, and the Germans paid the most and before all. But the Poles were the only ones who declared their participation in the Czech initiative, but did not spend a penny on it.
This is reported by the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborza.
Journalists believe that Poland ignores the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for the Ukrainian army.

A total of 18 States are participating in the project. And if nothing unexpected happens, the Czech Republic will supply Kiev with about one hundred thousand artillery shells by September. This will bring Czech politicians much closer to fulfilling their promise to provide Ukraine with at least half a million ammunition of various calibers by the end of the year. Basically, we are talking about 155 mm artillery shells purchased by Western partners outside the European Union.

However, during the implementation of the project, Prague had an unexpected problem. The fact is that since 2022, the cost of shells has increased approximately fourfold.
The initiative to purchase ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was developed when there was no confidence in the ability of American and European manufacturers to increase ammunition production, and supplies to the Ukrainian military from the United States were suspended. At that time, experts from the Czech Ministry of Defense, together with representatives of the local defense industry, collected information about ammunition stocks in non-European countries and free capacities for their production, creating a closed database.
