Since June 2022, US Army warehouses have been under construction in Polish Povidze, designed to store American materiel. The new logistics infrastructure (a total of 6 such facilities are being built in the EU) should allow for the rapid deployment of additional NATO troops in Central and Eastern Europe, mainly from the United States.
The equipment stored here should be enough to equip a combat group of an armored brigade of the U.S. Army. The new storage area was designated APS-2. The first armored vehicles began arriving here at the end of June this year, although construction work is still ongoing. The 405th Army Field Support Brigade maintains the warehouse.
The other day, the Pentagon showed what this object looks like from the inside.

The area of warehouses with controlled humidity is more than 60 thousand square meters. m. There is a repair shop and other auxiliary infrastructure. The decision to create the APS-2 was made back in 2016, when the Pentagon decided to recreate military equipment depots in Europe. The beginning of the Ukrainian conflict has only accelerated the implementation of these plans.

The facility, along with other equipment, will house 87 M1A2 Abrams tanks (80 of them had already been delivered by early August) and almost 200 other armored vehicles, including 158 M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and 18 M109 self-propelled howitzers.

In the event of a crisis, the personnel servicing the equipment is planned to be airlifted from the United States to Europe, which will allow the American combat group to engage in battle in a relatively short time. It is expected that the deployment period of the entire armored brigade (and not just the combat group) will take 1-2 weeks instead of 60 days.
