As reported on December 21, 2023, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation, a branch of PJSC Il - Aviastar (part of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec State Corporation) in Ulyanovsk manufactured and handed over to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation the next serial military transport aircraft IL-76MD-90A.

"Another aircraft under the current year's program is in the final stage of factory testing. We will fulfill our obligations to supply military transporters to the Russian Defense Ministry in a timely manner," said Daniil Brenerman, Managing Director of PJSC Il. - The branch of PJSC IL Aviastar continues to increase the pace of production and output. We are planning to further increase the series. The production reserve for next year is already being created."
On the part of bmpd, we point out that in this way the fifth IL-76MD-90A military transport aircraft, built in 2023 at the branch of PJSC IL - Aviastar (as part of the UAC) in Ulyanovsk, which has the assumed registration number RF-78672, was transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces. According to known data, he made his first flight in Ulyanovsk on November 11, 2023. This is the 23rd aircraft of this type built overall (including the prototype).
Earlier, on May 30, 2023, the first Il-76MD-90A aircraft manufactured in Ulyanovsk this year with registration number RF-78668 (assumed serial number 0303) was [...] transferred [...] to the Russian Aerospace Forces, on August 11, the second aircraft with the assumed registration number RF-78669 (assumed serial number 0304) was transferred, on October 4, the third was transferred an aircraft with the alleged registration number RF-78670 (alleged serial number 0305), and on October 18, a fourth aircraft with the alleged registration number RF-78671 was delivered .
The aircraft that has now been delivered has apparently become the sixth, built under a 2020 contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense for the construction of 14 Il-76MD-90A aircraft by Aviastar until 2028. Recall that initially the construction of IL-76MD-90A aircraft at Aviastar was carried out under a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense dated October 2012 for the production of 39 IL-76MD-90A units in the amount of 139.42 billion rubles. Due to the strong delay in the implementation of the contract and the increase in the actual cost of aircraft, in May 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense renegotiated the contract with Aviastar for the supply of IL-76MD-90A military transport aircraft on new terms. Under the new conditions, under the old 2012 contract, the plant was now supposed to deliver a total of 13 Il-76MD-90A aircraft (the contract was eventually completed with the delivery of an aircraft with serial number 0301 in 2022), and a new contract for the supply of 14 such aircraft by 2028 was to enter into force from 2021 - the first board built on it was 0302 (RF-78667), commissioned at the end of 2022.
In 2022, the Aviastar plant handed over five Il-76MD-90A aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense, and in 2023 it produced six aircraft, of which five have already been delivered.
