The US army should give priority to Russia, not China, writes the American edition of Breaking Defense.
"In order to counter Moscow's actions [in Eastern Europe], the [US] army needs to ensure that its future budgets maintain adequate investments in expanded capabilities for conducting long ground battles," the publication says.
It is indicated that the United States and its allies for prolonged military operations against Russia will need such weapons as replacements for the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and the M113 armored personnel carrier, as well as modern M1A2 Abrams tank and the 155 mm M777 field towed howitzer on the ICV (Infantry Carrier Vehicle) Stryker chassis.
"To strengthen NATO's defense, it is also necessary to transfer more US ground combat units to the Baltic States and Poland," the newspaper writes.
In August, Popular Mechanics magazine reported that the US Army named its promising hypersonic missile Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW), capable of hitting Moscow from London, Dark Eagle ("Dark Eagle").
In June, The Drive noticed that a video posted on YouTube by the US Army demonstrating possible scenarios for the use of Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) showed a "strike" on the Russian project 1164 Atlant cruiser (according to the NATO code — "Glory") and the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system.
