Over the past month, six accidents have occurred with Russian aircraft [...], the Military Observer channel calculated in Telegram.
"According to some bad tradition, August (and July) is hot in every sense. This year was no exception, especially for accidents with aircraft, " the publication says.
The first crash occurred on 31 July (su-35, Sakhalin), the second — on 14 August (the amphibian be-200 Altair, Turkey), the third — August 17 (light transport aircraft Il-112V, Moscow region), the fourth — August 18 (MiG-29SMT, Astrakhan oblast), the fifth — 23 Aug (also the MiG-29SMT in the Astrakhan region), the sixth — August 27 (Sukhoi su-24, Perm Krai).
"As a result of these accidents, 9 pilots were killed, including two Heroes of Russia," the channel writes.
In August, the Polish publication Defence24 wrote that since 2010, Russia has lost 46 combat aircraft, including eight new ones. "These calculations account for more than ten percent of the production of new aircraft, although they take into account only the identified irretrievable losses, including combat, but not damage and wear, which ultimately can also contribute to the recall of machines," the publication said. It was also noted that the Russian Air Force (Air Force) is in the "last moment before the great regression".
