According to the web resource "Mediapaluba", the lead new nuclear icebreaker "Arctic" of project 22220 (LK-60YA) on August 12, 2021, got up for repair in the Veleshchinsky dry dock of JSC "Kronstadt Marine Plant". The vessel will have to replace the rowing electric motor on the right shaft, which failed during the commissioning of the electric propulsion system.

On July 9, the icebreaker Arktika returned to St. Petersburg from Murmansk for repairs. The ship was moored at the Baltic Plant. On August 12, the ship left the enterprise and headed for Kronstadt.
Earlier, the deputy head of Rosatom and the head of the directorate of the Northern Sea Route, Vyacheslav Ruksha, in an interview with Kommersant, said:
"If we talk about the dismantling of the right rowing electric motor (GED, received a short circuit during commissioning), which is why the Arctic came to St. Petersburg, then on August 10-12 the icebreaker should dock at the Kronstadt Marine Plant. The preparatory work has been done. The transformer, which also suddenly failed, has already been changed. Another problem is the insufficient system for removing oil vapors from the turbine, which affects the operation of the RITM-200 units. The work in the part of the turbines is also done."
On the part of bmpd, we recall that the head nuclear icebreaker "Arctic" of the new project 22220 (LK-60YA), built at JSC "Baltic Plant" (part of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation"), was damaged by the right propeller motor as a result of an accident on February 4, 2020 during mooring tests. As a result of subsequent surveys and proceedings, it was decided that the icebreaker would resume testing and be delivered with an emergency electric motor with power restrictions "under certain guarantees and obligations". The acceptance certificate of the icebreaker "Arctic" was signed on October 21, 2020 in Murmansk, after which the icebreaker with a reduced full capacity took part in the winter navigation of 2020/2021 in the North. The replacement of the emergency electric motor on the icebreaker was planned to be carried out during the docking in Kronstadt in August 2021, which is now being carried out.
