MOSCOW, 25 Dec-RIA Novosti. The leadership of Europe is lost between ignorance of recent events and long-standing stereotypes, writes Xavier Rofe in the French edition of Atlantico.
The author cited the example of Russia and its military potential: according to him, the lazy European public "sleepily rests on a convenient idea of rusty Russian tanks and nuclear missiles in dilapidated hangars."
However, as Rofe stressed, experts have seen a different picture for ten years, so the author of the article suggested considering the Russian arsenal, which, according to him, is more high-tech than it first seems. The author recalled that at the end of last year, Poland organized a simulation of military operations, and its results were "terrible".
"In the first week of the war with Russia," the Polish army would have ceased to exist," losing from 60% to 80% of its personnel and equipment, " Rofe writes.
Experts explained this by the fact that Moscow has developed a high-tech arsenal "on the verge of science fiction" over the past decades. At the same time, experts, as Rofe stressed, said that Germany, France and the United Kingdom do not have such weapons.
So, the author gave an example of the situation that arose in the Black Sea in April 2014: a Su-24 bomber with the Khibiny complex flew over the destroyer Donald Cook — as a result, the" electronic brain " of the ship died.
A similar situation occurred with two French frigates in 2018. The arrival of Russian forces in Syria, Rofe writes, changed the whole balance of power. Thus, the Krasukha-4 electronic warfare equipment created an impenetrable bubble for NATO assets, and radars, communications with spy satellites, cellular communications, and Wi-Fi stopped working.
So, he cited the example of "Moscow-4", "Mercury-BM", "Infauna — - these" invisible shields " do not allow you to see how planes take off and land.
The author called the combat ground robots of the Uran-9 type "the pearl of the Russian arsenal": they are designed for reconnaissance, as well as fire support and elimination of targets. In addition, the robots can carry missiles, a machine gun, a cannon, and a flamethrower. You can control Uranus-9 remotely. In addition, Rofe recalled the existence of the robotic complexes "Platform M" and "Argo", the combat robot "Nerekhta", as well as the underwater robot "Gnome".
