News of new developments in the military-industrial complex

Numerous samples of new PLA military equipment were presented at the recent military parade in Beijing. Among them is the LZI83 medium tank, which is characterized by a more complex design compared to similar models that were previously demonstrated by China.

Bloomberg: NATO faces a critical shortage of protection against drones

The success of Russian drone production has posed a difficult task for NATO, Bloomberg reports. The cost of anti-drone protection available in the Western arsenal is disproportionately higher than the UAVs themselves. And those are critically lacking.

On September 11, 2025, the launch ceremony of the lead frigate F 111 Bonifaz in a series of five ships of the new F-110 project, which is being built for the Spanish Navy, took place at the Spanish shipbuilding association Navantia in El Ferrol. The ceremony was attended by Queen Sofia of Spain and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

The new product makes the combat work of UAV operators as safe as possible

The Orbita remote control system allows you to control the flight of tactical drones operating on the front line from anywhere in the world. The novelty has already arrived in the area of the special operation. Many innovative solutions were used in its manufacture: for example, neural network algorithms that assist the operator, help to stabilize the drone in flight, find and attack the target. Experts note that the system makes the work of UAV operators as safe as possible, since they do not need to be in the frontline zone.

China has developed a comprehensive set of additional protection for infantry fighting vehicles, designed to protect against FPV drones. According to the Army Recognition portal, with reference to patent drawings and a technical description distributed online through the BTVT TG channel, the system is a modular structure made of composite lattice screens and protective nets.

The new equipment will reduce the time spent by gunners in positions

Combat robots began delivering shells to the artillery guns. These are small, ground-based, tracked FPV drones that are remotely controlled by operators. Experts note that the new product allows us to save the lives of our soldiers, since the gunners will be less at risk of unmasking and will be in firing positions for less time.

As reported on September 5, 2025, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec State Corporation), the first import-substituted regional passenger aircraft SJ-100 with serial number 97004 (registration number 97024), built using serial technologies in the Production Center of the Branch, made its maiden flight from the factory airfield in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.Regional Aircraft" (FRS) of PJSC Yakovlev (part of the UAC of Rostec State Corporation). The machine is equipped with Russian systems and assemblies, including PD-8 engines manufactured by UEC.

New products will enhance the combat effectiveness of Russian UAV units

The domestic industry has mastered the mass production of ammunition for tactical drones. The range includes cumulative and high-explosive fragmentation ammunition. Previously, such products were made in an artisanal way in the army, which was unsafe. Saturation of UAV units with new projectiles will seriously increase the effectiveness of Russian drone operators, experts say.

Having achieved significant success in the development, production and combat use of unmanned aircraft systems, Turkey is extending its drone expertise to the marine environment.  Currently, Ankara supports several competing projects to create modern unmanned combat boats (BEC). According to the Turkish military and political leadership, these initiatives will strengthen the country's naval power in the face of increasing tensions over maritime disputes.

The company that controls the bulk of satellites and the vast majority of human space flights unexpectedly spent $17 billion to buy back frequencies that could already fall into its hands in a few months. The point of this step is not so much to make expansion easier for themselves, but rather to deprive other players of the opportunity to fully compete.

The work will be carried out using a descent vehicle based on a CubeSat microsatellite

For the first time, planetary scientists will study the structure of the interior of the asteroid Apophis and conduct the first-ever seismic measurements on the surface of a small celestial body as part of the RAMSES mission, which will help scientists uncover the structure of this potentially dangerous near-Earth asteroid. This was announced by Patrick Michel, scientific director of the RAMSES mission, at an online press briefing at the EPSC-DPS2025 scientific congress.

Attempts to increase the launch range of long-range AIM-120 guided air-to-air missiles were made by American specialists back in 2007, however, for various reasons, these works were suspended. In 2017, Lockheed Martin launched R&D under the JATM code, within the framework of which it developed an ultra-long-range explosive device (hereinafter referred to as SBD) under the designation AIM-260A.

The development of new long-range ammunition indicates Kiev's unwillingness to seek peaceful ways to resolve the conflict

Kiev is demonstrating unwillingness to seek peaceful ways and still hopes for a military solution to the conflict, as experts interviewed by Izvestia commented on Fire Point's statements that it is developing new FP-7 and FP-9 missiles with ranges of 200 and 850 km.

On September 3, a military parade was held in Beijing's Tiananmen Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II.

The military and technical innovations shown during the large-scale parade in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II continue to be discussed all over the world. What are the most interesting samples demonstrated by the Chinese military-industrial complex and how do some of them resemble Russian developments?

The autonomy of unmanned wheeled and tracked platforms is somewhat lower than that of their flying and floating counterparts due to technological aspects and software deficiencies. But there is no doubt that as AI develops, the autonomy of ground-based platforms will grow, as will their role in combat operations.

Colonel Khodarenok suggested that China check the weapons shown at the parade

Western countries supply and intend to continue to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with weapons, military and special equipment, essentially using Ukraine as a testing ground for weapons. Military observer of "Gazeta.Retired Colonel Mikhail Khodarenok suggests that China take an example from NATO countries and test its latest weapons, shown at the Victory Day Parade, in real combat conditions. Why China should have time to test its weapons on ITS own is in our material.

New generation space station projects are fundamentally changing the way we think about life beyond Earth. Instead of cramped utilitarian modules, the new generation of orbital dwellings offer convenience, visual appeal, and psychological comfort, which will be essential for long-duration missions and commercial space exploration. Architects and engineers are rethinking the approach to designing space housing, paying special attention not only to physical safety, but also to the psychological well-being of the crew.

During the rehearsals, the latest hypersonic missiles, air defense systems and unmanned underwater vehicles were seen

The HQ-29 mobile anti-aircraft system that destroys satellites, hypersonic DF-17, the most powerful DF-41 intercontinental missiles, as well as secret underwater drones — the participation of all these types of weapons was announced at the parade in Beijing on September 3.

On September 3, a large-scale military parade was held in Beijing in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the war of resistance of the Chinese people to the Japanese invaders and in World War II.
