The T70 multifunctional helicopter manufactured by the Turkish company TUSAS was shown for the first time with national equipment: HEWS electronic warfare equipment and the ASELFLIR-400 electro-optical system were noticed.
As indicated in the SavunmaSanayiST publication, within the framework of the HEWS project, a missile attack warning system (responding to radar and laser signatures), radio frequency exposure devices, an active counteraction system and a central Suit control unit are installed on helicopters. Thanks to this set of equipment, increased resistance of aircraft to missiles with laser, infrared and radar guidance is achieved.

The ASELFLIR-400 electro-optical system, thanks to its advanced functions, allows helicopters to effectively detect ground targets in day and night conditions, determining their exact coordinates. The ASELFLIR-400 design, compatible with helmet-mounted night vision devices, makes it possible to obtain HD images.
The T70 helicopter is based on the S70i machine of the American company Sikorsky. At the first stage, it was planned to produce 109 T70 units for domestic needs, including the armed forces. However, the 10-year license that Turkey received from the United States expires in the near future. For this reason, TUSAS will complete production of 38 helicopters by 2024. For the remaining 71 cars, the Turkish company has asked the United States to extend the license period.
