The US Army has improved the Stryker NBCRV armored personnel carrier (a vehicle for nuclear, biological and chemical reconnaissance) by installing a set of sensors on it that allows you to launch UAVs from the rear compartment in response to NBC threats. This is reported by the publication Army Recognition. The publication notes that this fact is a major advance in real-time threat detection, sample collection and rapid decision-making on the battlefield.

The Stryker NBCRV armored vehicle with the SSU (Sensor Suite Upgrade) module installed can now launch an unmanned aerial vehicle when a threat of a nuclear, biological or chemical nature is detected, which allows you to quickly and remotely analyze potentially dangerous environments. The UAV is mounted on the back of the NBCRV and is controlled by an operator, who, when a threat is detected, launches it to collect more complete data

– the publication notes.

The author adds that, using semi-autonomous navigation and route points, the UAV maneuvers over the affected area, collecting samples using an advanced biosensor payload.

This information is transmitted directly to commanders in real time, which allows them to make informed decisions and issue instructions on protective measures to personnel on the ground.

– it is emphasized in the material.

According to the publication, currently, US army personnel are conducting intensive training on the control of an unmanned aerial vehicle. The very fact of integrating the SSU module into the Stryker armored personnel carrier is considered by the US military to be an important step in developing the capabilities of the US Army to detect threats related to chemical, biological and radiological substances.

As threats related to chemical, biological, and radiological substances continue to evolve, such advances ensure that American soldiers will have the tools they need to safely and effectively eliminate threats, save lives, and ensure the success of the mission.
