As reported by the newspaper Delovoy Peterburg in the material by Svetlana Afonina, Pella wants to extend the deadlines for the delivery of three Karakurt ships through the court, the shipbuilding plant of JSC Pella (Otradnoye, Leningrad Region) intends to extend the deadlines for the delivery of three small rocket ships of project 22800 (code "Karakurt") in court) for the Russian Navy. It is proposed to transfer the last of them to the customer in October 2030.

The unfinished small rocket ships of the 22800 project located at Pella JSC. In the foreground are the ships "Whirlwind" (factory number 256) and "Okhotsk" (factory number 255), in the background "Kozelsk" (former "Storm", factory number 254). There is also a long-term research vessel "Ilmen" (factory number 151) of project 11982, launched back in 2017, which has turned into a long-term construction. The Moscow Arbitration Court has accepted for production the claim of the Leningrad shipbuilding plant "Pella" to the Russian Ministry of Defense on changing the state contract for the construction of a series of small missile ships (MRCS) (code "Karakurt"). The shipyard wants to include in the document new deadlines for the delivery of three ships and transfer to the customer Kozelsk (formerly Storm) by October 25, 2026, Okhotsk - by October 25, 2028, and Vorhir - by October 25, 2030, it follows from the published documents.

The contract for the construction of a series of seven Karakurts was signed by Pella and the Ministry of Defense in 2015. Designed by the Almaz Central Design Bureau, these MRCS have a length of 60 m, a width of 10 m, and a draft of 4 m. The Zelenodolsk Plant is also building a series of ships of this type today. Gorky and Amur Shipbuilding Plant.

Pella had previously handed over three Karakurts to the customer - Mytishchi, Sovetsk and Odintsovo. The fourth, the Burya, equipped with the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile and artillery complex, is currently undergoing state tests.

The remaining three MRCS, the deadlines of which became the subject of a lawsuit against the customer, were laid at the Morye shipyard in Crimea at one time, but, unfinished, they were towed along inland waterways to the main Pella site in the Leningrad Region in 2019-2020.

Recall: the federal authorities leased the Sea to Pella in 2016 for 3 years. It was planned that the new partner would invest about 1 billion rubles in the development of the Crimean shipyard during this time, as well as share orders. Before that, the "Sea" mainly produced hovercraft landing craft.

But the partnership did not work out, even taking into account the fact that Pella sent its specialists to Crimea to set up work processes. In 2019-2020, three unfinished ships were towed to Otradnoye in the Leningrad Region for completion. The degree of their readiness has not been specified recently. It was planned to transfer Kozelsk by the end of 2021, Izvestia wrote.

Another problem that Pella faced during the completion of the Karakurt was the disruption of the delivery time of diesel engines produced by the St. Petersburg Zvezda plant. Previously, this was also the subject of litigation between the parties. The ships are equipped with a main power plant consisting of high-speed M507D-1 diesel engines.

In addition, at the end of November, Pella filed another lawsuit against PJSC Zvezda for a total amount of 197.7 million rubles. Its essence is not specified in the published documents, but the application has been accepted for production. The consideration of both cases will begin in February 2024.

It was not possible to get an operational comment from "Pella" DP.

On the part of bmpd, we recall that JSC Leningrad Shipbuilding Plant Pella (JSC Pella) has been building the first seven small rocket ships (MRCS) of project 22800 (code "Karakurt") since 2015. To date, Pella has commissioned the first three ships of this type that entered service with the Baltic Fleet - Mytishchi (laid down under the name "Hurricane", renamed in 2018, factory number 251, commissioned by the Navy on December 17, 2018), Sovetsk (laid down under the name "Typhoon", factory number 252, commissioned on October 12, 2019) and Odintsovo (factory number 253, was laid under the name "Squall", commissioned on November 21, 2020). The fourth MRK Burya built on the Pella (factory number 257) has been undergoing tests in the Baltic Sea since October 2022, but has not yet been handed over to the Navy.

Due to problems with the supply of main diesel engines and problems with financing, three ships of the 22800 project are located at the completion wall of the Pella plant - Kozelsk (factory number 254, laid under the name "Storm"), Okhotsk (factory number 255) and Whirlwind (factory number 256), - the hulls of which were built at the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Shipbuilding Plant "More" in Feodosia (Crimea) and then towed by inland waterways to Pella for completion in November 2019 - May 2020.
