More than 1.5 thousand Russian and foreign manufacturers demonstrated their products at the exhibition
83 foreign companies participated in the exhibition exposition of the international forum "Army-2023" — this is twice as much as last year. Western countries failed to isolate the Russian military-industrial complex, experts stated. During the forum, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation signed contracts with Russian enterprises for more than 400 billion rubles. According to them, the army will receive 2.5 thousand new samples of weapons, military and special equipment and over 1.8 million ammunition. The exhibition of captured Western-made weapons captured during the SVO was particularly popular among the visitors of the Army-2023.
The isolation failed
The events of the international forum "Army-2023" were attended by almost 1.1 million people. The exhibition was attended by delegations of defense departments of 83 states. 83 foreign companies presented their expositions at the forum — this is more than twice the figure of last year, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported
About 1.5 thousand domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations presented over 28 thousand samples of military and dual-use products.
The Russian Defense Ministry at the Army-2023 forum signed state contracts worth more than 400 billion rubles with enterprises of the Russian defense industry, said the head of the Main Armament Department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Anatoly Gulyaev. As a result of their implementation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will receive more than 2.5 thousand new samples of weapons, military and special equipment and over 1.8 million units of weapons of destruction, he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense announced the signing of a number of agreements on the supply of Mi-8AMTSh-V Terminator helicopters, Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems, Uran-6 mine clearance robots, Tornado-S rocket launchers, anti-ship cruise missiles and other weapons and ammunition systems.
It is important that many foreign delegations and manufacturers of military equipment took part in the Army forum, military expert Andrei Frolov noted in an interview with Izvestia.

"This clearly showed that Russia is not isolated or under siege," he said. — A lot of interesting things were brought from China and Iran, and from the latter — a lot of full-scale models. The Chinese first of all came with a program on drones — even several companies had their own stands. Many contracts were signed at the forum. Rosoboronexport announced one contract worth $500 million, which indicates that the exhibition was also successful from the point of view of international military—technical cooperation.
A number of new products were presented at the forum, which have been talked about for a long time, the expert recalled.
— In particular, the Malva howitzer, the new Lancet drone, — he listed. — Of course, the uninhabited Chisel complex, the protected Titan car, the Spartak family of cars are interesting. KAMAZ showed a whole line of armored vehicles. The study of the experience of the special operation gave an interesting selection of solutions to protect against aircraft weapons on armored vehicles, primarily for tanks.
The expert noted the appearance of many small developers at the exhibition.
— Many of them presented, for example, their variants of tactical vehicles, — he said. — Let's see if they can conclude contracts with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of their equipment.
New items from the exhibition
The forum showed the latest Russian equipment. Among them are rockets. Tactical Missile Armament Corporation presented a new generation X-69 air-to-ground cruise missile. The maximum launch range of the munition, which carries a 310-kilogram warhead, is 290 kilometers. The munition occupies an intermediate place between short-range missiles and strategic cruise products.
Due to the use of modern materials and the specific configuration of the nose cone, as well as the almost complete absence of protruding parts, the X-69 has become as invisible as possible in flight. It is designed for high-precision non-nuclear destruction of any, even heavily protected ground targets.
The corporation also showed a new RVV-MD2 — a short-range munition for short-range highly maneuverable air combat. The missile was created for the fifth-generation Su—57 fighter - it should be placed in the internal compartments of the aircraft.

The ammunition ensures the defeat of air targets at any time of the day, from any direction. It is known that he received an inertial guidance system.
Another novelty is the 2C43 Malva howitzer on a wheeled chassis, first shown to the general public. The main objectives of such an installation are enemy command and support points, warehouses, fortifications, artillery and missile batteries, areas of concentration of enemy equipment and personnel.
Among the equipment for the ground forces, the Kurganets-25 BMP, the 2C41 Drok 82-mm self-propelled mortar complex, modifications of the MT-LB light armored tractor, which has proven itself in the troops, and other samples of military equipment were demonstrated. During their development or modernization, the experience gained during the special operation was taken into account.
A feature of the current forum was the large number of unmanned aerial vehicles and electronic warfare (EW) equipment presented. The number of manufacturers demonstrating their developments in this direction has increased significantly.
Most of the new products are small UAVs in the quad and multicopter format. In addition, models of FPV kamikaze drones were presented at the forum for the first time.
Medicine and Augmented Reality
A number of novelties in the field of military medicine were presented at the forum. In particular, military doctors presented augmented reality technology for the removal of foreign bodies. A computed tomography is performed on the patient, a 3D model is built according to its data, and with the help of special software, this model is linked to the patient with high accuracy. This ensures maximum efficiency of the operation.

Doctors from the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after Burdenko presented a prototype device capable of extracting metal fragments from the brain using an electromagnet. The new device is already being used to help the wounded during the SVO.
Scientific approach
Within the framework of the scientific and business program of the forum, over 15 thousand specialists took part in 182 round tables, 24 briefings, 33 conferences, 21 interdepartmental meetings.
The exposition of the military innovative technopolis "Era" has become a key platform for the expert community, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noted. 99 new developments were demonstrated here, which were divided into five clusters: "Artificial intelligence technologies", "Unmanned aerial vehicles. Robotic complexes" and others.
The exhibition of unmanned aerial vehicles and anti-aircraft systems was not limited to the site of the Dronbiathlon club. An extensive scientific and business program was provided here. Competitions and master classes were held to complete tasks on piloting FPV drones in conditions close to combat.

In total, ten episodes were played, during which foreign and Russian specialists, military attaches of the participating countries of the forum demonstrated combat capabilities.
Expositions of 34 universities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation with their latest developments were presented at the forum. In particular, the only university in Russia for the training of pilots-navigators, the branch of the VUNC of the Air Force "VVA" in Chelyabinsk showed a computer training complex "Virtual crew cabin" of the Tu-134SH aircraft for training cadets-navigators. The simulator allows for comprehensive training of specialists to work on modern aviation complexes.
Trophy collection
The captured equipment captured during the special operation in Ukraine enjoyed special attention from the forum participants. An American M-113 armored personnel carrier, an Australian Bushmaster armored car, a Swedish CV90-40 BMP and a French AMX-10RCR wheeled tank were exhibited at the site. Great Britain was "represented" by Husky and Mastiff armored vehicles, as well as the AT-105 Saxon armored personnel carrier.

The exposition began to take shape in August last year. Now it includes more than 870 units of weapons and equipment.
Movies for patriots
A round table "PR of the military-industrial complex: tasks, challenges and opportunities" was also held within the framework of the forum. It discussed the involvement of defense industry enterprises in the filming of feature films. According to the organizers, such a movie is necessary to promote Russian weapons on the international market and attract young people to work in the defense industry.
According to Maxim Ksenzov, Director General of the Foundation for the Support of Military-Patriotic Cinema, a renaissance is beginning in Russian cinema, since the state has changed its approach to supporting cinema quite a lot over the past two or three years.
— We know good Western examples of such projects, we remember the Soviet experience, at the moment this is not enough. Our task is to try to create conditions and push producers and film companies to make such films appear. We are interested in the defense industry enterprises both formulating their tasks for us and participating in the creation of cinema," he said.

Maxim Ksenzov noted that abroad they actively use all kinds of methods to promote their weapons in the world, simultaneously trying to devalue Russian achievements.
— We should also use a variety of tools to promote our interests, including on the world market, — the head of Voenkino expressed his opinion.
Anastasia Mironova, Development Director of the Triix Media film company, cited research data from the Platforma and the National Social Design Center. Media Groups". According to them, 60% of Russians believe that cinema should educate and influence human values, and 82% of viewers positively assess the quality of content produced in the country.
Also, the survey participants chose several topics that they would like to see in the cinema: in particular, 33% want to see films about the history of the country and patriotism, 22% — about military conflicts and their consequences.
In addition, Anastasia Mironova reported that impressions from films influenced the choice of a future profession for almost a third of Russians.
