/tass/. The division of special-purpose submarines - carriers of Poseidon super torpedoes - is planned to be formed as part of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet by the end of 2024 - beginning of 2025. This was reported to TASS by a source close to the Russian military department.
"The decision to form a division of special-purpose nuclear submarines in Kamchatka has been made. We are talking about December 2024 or the first half of 2025," he said.
TASS has no official confirmation of this information.
Earlier, TASS reported that the construction of coastal infrastructure facilities at the base of the special-purpose nuclear submarines Belgorod and Khabarovsk, which will become carriers of the Poseidon super torpedoes, will be completed in early 2024. At the same time, the new division being formed at the Pacific Fleet will include not only Belgorod and Khabarovsk, but also other submarines.
Earlier, TASS also reported that the submarine of project 09852 Belgorod will continue to serve as part of the Pacific Fleet, and the first Poseidon super torpedo ammunition has already been manufactured for this submarine.
