"The tasks envisaged during the training of the strategic deterrence forces have been completed in full," the report says.
As noted on the Kremlin's website, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a training of ground, sea and aviation strategic deterrence forces was conducted, during which practical launches of ballistic and cruise missiles took place.
Tu-95MS long-range aircraft, which launched air-launched cruise missiles, were also involved in the implementation of tasks.
It is specified that the intercontinental ballistic missile "Yars" was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome and the ballistic missile "Sineva" from the Barents Sea at the Kura test site in Kamchatka.
Earlier on Wednesday, it became known that the President of the Russian Federation assessed how the training of strategic deterrence forces is going, and also accepted the report of the head of the Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu on the course of maneuvers. In particular, during the training at the Kura test site in Kamchatka, the Yars ICBM was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome and the Sineva ballistic missile from the Barents Sea.
Earlier, on October 20, Putin visited the training ground of the Western Military District in the Ryazan region, where he personally monitored the training of those mobilized to participate in Russia's special military operation to protect Donbass. The Head of State on the spot heard Shoigu's report on the passage of the mobilized citizens of the course of combat training in various military accounting specialties, as well as combat coordination within the units.
The Head of State was shown, among other things, how the trainees overcome the airborne assault strip as part of a platoon, and also undergo exercises to combat the armored vehicles of a conditional enemy in close combat.
Earlier, on February 19, the Russian Armed Forces also conducted a planned exercise of strategic deterrence forces, during which ballistic and cruise missiles were launched. The course of the exercise was controlled by the President of the Russian Federation. The maneuvers involved the forces and means of the Aerospace Forces, the Southern Military District, the Strategic Missile Forces, the Northern and Black Sea Fleets.
As the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported at the same time, the exercise of the strategic deterrence forces was planned to check the readiness of military command bodies, launch combat crews, crews of warships and strategic missile carriers to perform their tasks, as well as the reliability of weapons of strategic nuclear and non-nuclear forces.
