Popular Science: Russian electronic warfare systems "Krasukha" can block GPS signals
The Krasukha-2 and Krasukha-4 electronic warfare systems are capable of blocking signals from the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite navigation system. A similar assessment of Russian weapons was given by the American magazine Popular Science.
The publication claims that these electronic warfare systems installed on trucks can interfere with the normal operation of high-tech military equipment equipped with various electronic systems.
In particular, Krasukha-2 and Krasukha-4 generate powerful electromagnetic waves that can block the operation of enemy radars, interfere with the normal mode of radio communication and counteract the reception of GPS signals.
Popular Science believes that Russia, in the event of an attack on Ukraine, can use such complexes, as well as T-72, T-80 and T-90 tanks and multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) like the 9K58 "Smerch".
In April 2021, the American edition of Popular Science, referring to the statement of military expert Samuel Bendett, wrote that a pair of Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57 and its wingman, heavy strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) S-70 "Hunter", can replace an entire squadron of aircraft.
