TSAMTO, January 10. In 2021, the Airborne Forces continued to improve and modernize the VVST samples in service, as well as the introduction of new landing equipment.
For modern equipment – the BMD-4M amphibious assault vehicle and the multi-purpose armored personnel carrier BTR–MDM "Shell" - parachute-free systems PBS-950U and PBS-955 have been created, designed for parachuting from VTA aircraft with personnel stationed inside the vehicle.
In addition, tests of a parachute-cargo system for landing cargo with a flight weight of up to 1500 kg from military transport aircraft of the Il-76 type have been successfully carried out.
In parallel with this, the development of controlled cargo parachute systems of various carrying capacities for parachuting cargo to the designated area with high accuracy was carried out, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said in a statement on January 8.
