A Reddit user found an inconspicuous B-2 bomber on Google maps
In the USA, an unusual aircraft was noticed on Google maps. A Reddit user posted a screenshot showing a satellite image of an aircraft that looks like a Northrop B-2 Spirit strategic stealth bomber.
The image on the map is blurred. Users assumed that the image was taken by the Maxar Technologies satellite, which measured the intensity of three color ranges and combined them into an image.
Judging by the image, the satellite captured the flight of the Northrop B-2 Spirit bomber, which is distinguished by the characteristic shape and the "flying wing" scheme. The unusual design of the aircraft causes the reduced visibility of the B-2 Spirit.
Earlier, the B-2 Spirit got into the lenses during the repair. The Drive edition drew attention to the picture of the plane, which is considered the most expensive in the world. The bomber was undergoing repairs in Palmdale.
In September, Planet Labs satellite images revealed a B-2 Spirit that made an emergency landing at Whiteman Base in Missouri. The aircraft suffered a hydraulic system failure during the flight.
