The South Korean KF-21 fighter, an analogue of the Russian light tactical aircraft (LTS), known as Checkmate and Su-75, was first presented in Lima, Peru, at the SITDEF 2021 arms exhibition. This is reported by a TASS correspondent.
The maximum take-off weight of the Checkmate competitor will be 25.6 thousand kilograms, it will be able to reach speeds of up to 2.2 thousand kilometers per hour. Unlike the Su-75, the South Korean aircraft is equipped with two engines with a total thrust of up to 20 thousand kilograms.
In early October, the Defense Development Agency of the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea published a video with the "taking off" multifunctional fighter KF-21 Boramae (translated from Korean — "Hawk") generation 4++, formerly known as KF-X. The recording was created using computer graphics, the department explained that it "has nothing to do with a specific weapon system or country."
In July, Rostec presented LTS at MAKS-21. According to the head of the state corporation Sergey Chemezov, a single-engine tactical fighter will cost from 25 to 30 million dollars.
