Reconnaissance drones were used from a ship for the first time in Russia. The sailors of the Caspian Flotilla used drones during exercises to control the hit of Kalibr cruise missiles at the target. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Southern Military District (SE).
Representatives of the Southern Military District noted that the crew of the Veliky Ustyug ship fired missiles of the Kalibr complex. Visual control of the destruction of targets was carried out for the first time with the help of unmanned vehicles "Orlan-10" and "aIleron-3", which were launched from the Dagestan rocket ship.
The South-Eastern Federal District stressed that the use of drones on offshore platforms is associated with difficulties. Pitching and the limited size of the ship's deck complicate the landing of the drone, and the flight of the drone takes place with strong gusts of wind. In addition, the use of drones over water increases the requirements for communication systems with a drone and navigation.
Earlier, on the air of the Zvezda TV channel, they told about the development of a flat nozzle for the Hunter drone. The new part will reduce the visibility of the device and increase protection against missiles with infrared and radar homing heads.
In September, the Chinese company Aerospace CH UAV Co. introduced the CH-6 drone. According to the Global Times, the car can stay in the air for up to 20 hours.
