The Network posted high-quality photos of the Russian special purpose submarine K-329 "Belgorod" — the longest in the world.
Recently, the new Russian submarine "Belgorod" went to sea for the first time to pass tests. In the new photos, you can see the ship in all its glory.
The submarine left Severodvinsk last week. This was the beginning of the long-awaited sea trials, which are crucial before the ship is delivered to the Navy.

In the spring, a source in the military-industrial complex noted that they intend to complete the test cycle of the K-329 nuclear submarine by September.

Belgorod belongs to the project 09852. The boat was laid down at Sevmash in July 1992 as a nuclear-powered submarine of the project 949A "Antey". In April 1993, the ship was renamed "Belgorod". Soon the work was stopped, but resumed after the death of the Kursk nuclear-powered vessel, which also belonged to the 949A project.

In 2012, the submarine was re-mortgaged under a new project-09852. When completed and redesigned, its length increased from 154 to 184 meters, which made the Belgorod the longest submarine in the world. The only larger type of submarines today are representatives of the project 941 "Shark". Now there is only one such submarine left in service. It will be written off in the foreseeable future.
The main feature of the K-329 is the ability to use the Poseidon torpedo, the largest in the world. It is equipped with a nuclear power plant. The main task of the product is to deliver a nuclear munition to the shores of the alleged enemy.
The next Poseidon carrier will be the Khabarovsk submarine — the only ship of the 09851 project. The project is classified, the data in open sources differ and often contradict each other. It is assumed that this submarine will be much smaller than the Belgorod.
The basis of the marine component of the Russian nuclear triad in the future will be the new fourth-generation submarines of Project 955. Recently, a significant event for the program took place: Russia began factory sea trials of the first serial strategic submarine of the project 955A.

The main armament of the boat is 16 R-30 Bulava ballistic missiles located in vertical shafts. Earlier, the media reported that the number of missile silos in submarines of the modernized project 955A was increased to 20, but later these reports were denied.
The same number of ballistic missiles will be received by a promising American Columbia-type submarine, which may become part of the US Navy in the 2030s.
