As the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport of the Russian Federation (Rosmorrechflot) reported on March 3, 2026, a solemn ceremony of raising the State Flag of the Russian Federation on the Voyevoda project 23700 rescue vessel took place at the Baltic Shipbuilding Plant Yantar JSC (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC) in Kaliningrad. The vessel became part of the Baltic branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Marine Rescue Service (Marine Rescue Service), the port of registry is the Grand Port of St. Petersburg.

Earlier, at the end of December 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation announced the transfer of the Voyevoda vessel to the FSB Marine Rescue Service, by order of which this vessel was built at the Yantar Shipyard. However, then, apparently, it was about signing the ship's acceptance certificate, and the raising of the National Flag on the ship "Voivode" has only now taken place.
On the part of bmpd, we would like to remind you that the Voyevoda rescue vessel of project 23700 (serial number C-370) was built at the Baltic Shipyard Yantar JSC (as part of the USC) in Kaliningrad. The developer of the project is JSC Severnoye PKB.
The contract for the construction of this vessel was signed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in December 2016, and the laying of the Voyevoda was carried out at the Yantar Shipyard on April 21, 2017. According to the terms of the contract, the vessel was supposed to be handed over to the customer in November 2019, but this deadline was repeatedly postponed. The Voyevoda was launched in Kaliningrad only on November 8, 2019, and then completed for another four years, and only on December 13, 2023, the vessel entered factory sea trials . The tests of the "Voivode" were conducted for two more years.
Officially, the vessel of project 23700 is designed to provide emergency rescue operations, as well as transportation and supply of small search and rescue vessels. In fact, as is widely believed, the vessel is actually a yacht for the "first person". The vessel is capable of carrying four boats on board and taking on board two helicopters. The vessel has a displacement of 7,500 tons, a length of 111 m, a width of 24 m, a speed of 22 knots, and a range of 5,000 miles. According to the published documentation of the Yantar shipyard, the ship of project 23700 is equipped with high-comfort rooms, which include eight residential blocks with a bedroom, bathroom and office, a conference room, a passenger cabin with a buffet, and passageways.
