At the international defense industry exhibition IDEX-2025, held from February 17 to 21, 2025 in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan presented samples of heavy military equipment of its own design for the first time. The existence of the Arslon armored personnel carrier in the 8x8 variant was first publicly announced in Uzbekistan in July 2024, when it was reported that its prototype had been submitted for military testing. The Arslon APC in the 6x6 variant and the To'fon ACS are being demonstrated for the first time.
It was stated that the Arslon 8x8 armored personnel carrier has a combat weight of 32 to 35 tons and can carry up to 11 people, including three crew members and eight paratroopers. The APC is equipped with a modern combat module with a 30 mm automatic cannon (apparently 2A42) and a 7.62mm machine gun. The diesel engine has a capacity of 600 hp and provides a speed on the highway of up to 100 km / h, a power reserve on the highway of up to 700 km. It is claimed that the Arslon has protection for the STANAG 4569 Level 6 frontal projection and Level 4 sides and has a Level 4a/4b mine protection capable of withstanding an explosion of 10 kg of TNT equivalent. The APC is equipped with a modern round-the-clock fire control system and an all-round view system based on video cameras.
Regarding the Arslon 6x6 APC, a combat weight of about 22 tons and the use of a 450 hp diesel engine are claimed, with a highway speed of up to 110 km/h. A combat module is installed, similar to the one installed on the Arslon 8x8, although it has some differences.
The To'fon self-propelled howitzer on a 6x6 armored wheeled chassis has a combat weight of 27 tons and is equipped with a 335 hp diesel engine, with a highway speed of up to 100 km/h. The swinging part of the 155 mm/52 caliber is apparently completely imported and complies with the NATO Ballistic Memorandum. The gun is equipped with an automated rammer, which supposedly provides a rate of fire of 7 rounds per minute.
