As reported on August 10, 2024, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC UAC, part of Rostec State Corporation), the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAZ), which is part of it, manufactured and handed over new Su-30SM2 multifunctional fighters to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The aviation equipment passed the necessary ground and flight tests and went to the place of duty. Irkutsk Aviation Plant fulfills the plan for the production of new aircraft in a timely manner within the framework of the state defense order.

On the part of bmpd, we point out that in this way, IAZ handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense the first batch of Su-30SM2 fighters manufactured by it this year. As usual recently, the KLA in its press release did not report the number of aircraft delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense in this batch, and their side numbers are retouched in official photographic materials.
This is the second batch of Su-30SM2 fighters delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces after the resumption of deliveries of this type of aircraft (Su-39SM), which were discontinued in 2018. Earlier, the first batch of Su-30SM2 after the resumption of deliveries was transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces on December 2, 2023. Apparently, these deliveries are carried out under a new contract concluded in 2022.
Earlier in June 2023, IAZ also handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense a batch of Su-30SM2 fighters manufactured for Naval Aviation of the Russian Navy. Presumably, the batch transferred in June 2023 was the third batch of Su-30SM2 aircraft built by IAZ under the contract for the supply of 21 fighters of this type for Naval Aviation of the Russian Navy, concluded by the Russian Ministry of Defense with the UAC on August 25, 2020.
In total, the Russian Ministry of Defense from 2012 to the beginning of 2024, according to known data, received 132 Su-30SM fighters, of which 34 were delivered to the Naval Aviation of the Russian Navy.
