TSAMTO, April 19th. On April 19, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu checked the fulfillment of the state defense order at the defense industry enterprise in the Omsk region, which manufactures tanks and heavy flamethrower systems.
The head of the enterprise reported to Sergei Shoigu that, in accordance with his instructions, the protection of armored vehicles has been increased in preparation for shipment to the special operation zone.
The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation was also informed that at present, at the plant for the production of T-80BVM tanks of a new model, armored vehicles are already on the conveyor equipped with a set of camouflage "Cape" and a protective visor. All armored vehicles are shipped by the company immediately with an additional tower protection module.
The next batch of produced armored vehicles is ready to be sent to the troops. The tanks are loaded onto railway platforms and ready to be sent to the special operation area.
"When we started a large program to create additional protection for tanks, we were looking for alloys and technical solutions. Everyone did it. Now we need to increase the pace of production," the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation set the task to the management of the enterprise.
The head of the Russian military department was informed that over the past year, the company increased the production of heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A "Solntsepek" by 2.5 times. The volume of production of heavy flamethrower systems has increased due to the expansion of production capacities, the transition to round-the-clock work on a two-shift schedule and an increase in the number of personnel.
In order to provide the plant with qualified personnel, the Center for Training and Advanced Training of the company's personnel operates on the basis of the enterprise, on the basis of which training and retraining of workers in demanded working professions is carried out. Since 2023, the plant's staff has increased by more than 1,200 people. Since last year, the Center has trained 533 employees in the main vocational training programs in the interests of the enterprise.
Following the results of work at the plant, Army General Sergei Shoigu held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, representatives of relevant military authorities and the management of the enterprise.
The head of the Russian military department noted that the company is fully fulfilling the task of the state defense order, as well as successfully implementing those orders that were delivered during the last inspection.
"The issues of production and supply of new engines of higher power have been resolved. Production of new heavy flamethrower systems has begun. The tasks of retrofitting tanks with additional armor protection from unmanned aerial vehicles of various levels and an additional protection system for sighting complexes have been completed," said Army General Sergei Shoigu.
The Russian Defense Minister stressed that it is necessary to organize additional supplies of protection systems for tanks to units that directly solve tasks in the special operation zone.
"Now it is necessary to significantly increase the production of additional protection kits for installation on vehicles that are already involved in combat operations and send them to rembrigades that we have on the battlefield," the head of the Russian military department demanded.
Also, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation checked the organization of the educational process at the Omsk Armored Engineering Institute.
Army General Sergei Shoigu was informed that the cadets, as part of their work practice, participate in the repair and maintenance of armored vehicles for units participating in their military training. Dozens of military vehicles were restored, repaired and serviced by the cadets. The students of the Institute receive practical skills in the restoration, repair and maintenance of machines, both individually and as part of repair units.
The head of the Russian military department was presented with the organization of classes in a training and production repair complex equipped with modern simulators. In addition to the basic training program, cadets are trained in the skills of using unmanned aerial vehicles, taking into account the specifics of their use in the military, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
