Attack drones and artillery threaten the movements of Russian and Ukrainian troops on the front line. Therefore, on the battlefield, it is increasingly possible to find artisanal ground robots performing tasks to supply warring units.

Elizabeth Gosselin-Malo, a columnist for the American Defense News magazine, tells about this in her article, referring to experts.

The use of UAVs by the parties to the conflict in Ukraine has led to the strengthening of the role of ground robots at the forefront.

Due to the number of unmanned aerial vehicles operating in the air for both surveillance and strikes against the enemy, movement has become very difficult for both sides. Thus, routine tasks such as logistics, supply and evacuation are at risk of detection and attack by drones.

- notes Sam Bendett, an employee of the analytical center of the US Navy.

Information about some autonomous ground-based systems used for logistical purposes began to appear on the Internet. Their use, the US media notes, eliminates the need for soldiers to leave shelters, putting their lives and health at risk. In particular, it was reported about a Russian unmanned ground vehicle that delivers ammunition to the front line and evacuates the wounded.

Russia has begun to use ground-based robotic systems to solve a number of combat missions in the area of its defense. Some of them, in particular, BR-1 and BRG-1, used by the Russian military to mine the area and evacuate the wounded, even plan to equip them with artificial intelligence.
