The use of the Tosochka heavy flamethrower system in Ukraine has become bad news for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was written by the Polish edition of Interia .

According to the authors of the article, the servicemen are dealing with a heavy flamethrower system that "can shoot terrible thermobaric shells."

As explained in the material, the thermobaric bomb causes destruction due to extremely high temperature and overpressure. And the shock wave can penetrate inside buildings, which is dangerous for anyone who tries to hide indoors.

Observers also stressed that compared to its predecessor, TOS-1, TOS-2 is even more dangerous. The fact is that the cabin has become armored, while a more powerful engine allows you to reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

To date, Tosochka differs from the TOS-1 "Pinocchio" and TOS-1A "Solntsepek" armed with improved tactical and technical characteristics. So, the complex is installed on the wheeled chassis of the Ural car with increased cross-country capability, has an increased firing range.

For the first time, Tosochka was presented in June 2020 at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow. Its range reaches from 6 to 18 kilometers. The machine is fully automated. The TOS-2 also has an electronic protection system.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian servicemen used the TOS-2 flamethrower system in the area of the special operation. The department clarified that the strike was inflicted on a cluster of infantry.

Yuri Knutov, a military expert and director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces, also spoke about modern Russian flamethrower systems that are actively used in the SVO zone.

In particular, according to him, the Russian heavy flamethrower system "Solntsepek" is considered so powerful that the United States has already raised the issue of banning it and classifying it as a weapon of mass destruction. The expert confirmed that the Russian Armed Forces are using heavy flamethrower systems "Solntsepek" and "Tosochka" in the zone of a special military operation.

In turn, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Yuri Shvytkin said that Ukraine can create an analogue of the Russian combat drone "Lancet" only with the help of Western allies. At the same time, the parliamentarian noted that Russia has the means to prevent possible strikes on its territory.

In March, it became known that the Russian kamikaze drone "Lancet" was modified to meet the requirements of a special military operation. He received a new optoelectronic guidance system and a control system with new software and improved controllability.
