Basic information
The International Military-Technical Forum "Army" has been held annually since 2015 in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation. It is organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Within the framework of the forum, a large-scale exhibition of achievements of the Russian defense complex is being held. The event is designed to promote the technical re-equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and increase their effectiveness, patriotic education of Russian youth, as well as the development of international military-technical cooperation and strengthening the positive image of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Forum sites
The main exhibition and business parts of the event are held on the territory of the leading exhibition site of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center. The center is located in Kubinka, on the 55th km of the M-1 highway. Land and water equipment is demonstrated at the nearby Alabino military training ground, the aviation part of the forum takes place at Kubinka airfield. Separate screenings within the framework of the forum are also organized in the military districts of the Russian Federation, in the Northern Fleet.
"Army-2015"
For the first time, the forum was held at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center on June 16-19, 2015, the opening ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Army-2015" gathered 828 enterprises and organizations (including 28 companies from seven foreign countries), which presented about 7 thousand exhibition samples. According to the Ministry of Defense, 73 foreign delegations attended the forum, including 38 official ones. In total, over 200 thousand people visited the forum in 2015. As part of the business program, a number of international contracts were signed, including an agreement on the supply of 12 Mi-8MTV-4 military transport helicopters to Belarus.
"Army-2016"
In 2016, the forum was held on September 6-11. In addition to the sites in the Moscow region, the demonstration of marine equipment was held in the Western, Southern, Central and Eastern military districts, as well as in the Northern Fleet. About 1 thousand organizations, including 60 foreign ones, presented their products. The Forum was attended by more than 500 thousand people.
In total, 11 thousand samples of machinery and equipment were exhibited. A pavilion of Strategic Missile Forces appeared at the forum in 2016 (in particular, the RS-12M "Topol" missile system deployed at the launch site was demonstrated there). Vehicles based on the Armata platform were presented: the T-14 tank and the T-15 infantry fighting vehicle, as well as the Boomerang wheeled armored personnel carrier. The forum was attended by delegations from more than 80 countries, 35 of them official. Within the framework of Army-2016, the Ministry of Defense signed 17 state contracts totaling 130 billion rubles (including for the supply of six submarines of Project 636 and three small missile ships of project 21631 to the Russian Navy).
"Army-2017"
On August 22-27, representatives of 114 foreign countries, 65 official military delegations, including 35 high-level ones, took part in the "Army-2017". The total number of delegates from foreign military departments exceeded 300 people. In addition to the Russian Federation, seven countries were represented by national exhibitions (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Slovakia and South Africa). 1,209 enterprises and organizations, including 79 foreign ones, were announced as participants. A total of 563 thousand people attended the forum. 18.5 thousand samples of weapons were presented to the visitors. According to the results of the forum, the Ministry of Defense signed 23 state contracts worth 170 billion rubles.
Within the framework of the forum, the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center hosted an exposition dedicated to the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Syria. Among other things, samples of weapons seized from terrorists were presented at it. On August 25-27, the military show "Polite People" was held with the participation of modern land military equipment, airplanes and helicopters, air defense equipment. The audience was shown a "tank ballet" and aerobatics performed by the flight groups "Russian Knights", "Swifts", "Falcons of Russia" and "Golden Eagles".
"Army-2018"
On August 21-26, 2018, the "Army" was combined with the international forum "National Security Week". For the first time, the number of guests and participants exceeded 1 million people. The programs were attended by representatives of 118 foreign countries, 65 official military delegations, 18 heads of defense departments of various countries. 1,254 organizations presented 26,459 samples of military and dual-use products.
Static expositions (including 295 units of weapons and military equipment from the presence of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) were deployed on an area of almost 350 thousand square meters. m.
288 units of the latest technology were involved in the show "Polite People" at the Alabino training ground, Komsomolsk Lake and Kubinka airfield. Also, an exhibition of captured weapons seized from militants in Syria was held within the framework of the forum. Demonstration performances of "Swifts", "Russian Knights", "Golden Eagles" took place at Kubinka airfield. For the first time, the First of August aerobatic team of the People's Liberation Army Air Force of China participated in the forum.
Within the framework of the Army-2018 scientific and business program, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation signed 31 state contracts with 20 enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) in the amount of more than 130 billion rubles.
"Army-2019"
The military-Technical Forum "Army-2019" was held on June 25-30, 2019. The total number of guests and participants again exceeded 1 million people. The forum was attended by representatives of 120 foreign countries, 41 official military delegations, more than 1,300 organizations presented 27,239 samples of military and dual-use products.
Static expositions were deployed on an area of 257,600 sq. m. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation provided 361 units of combat and special equipment for free inspection. For the first time, the S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile systems, the Pantsir-SM anti-aircraft missile and cannon complex, the 2C42 Lotus self-propelled artillery installation, the 82 mm 2C41 Drok self-propelled mortar, the Typhoon armored vehicle with a minesweeper, as well as the Hunter unmanned aerial vehicles were demonstrated at the forum sites and the Corsair.
Demonstration performances of "Swifts", "Russian Knights", "Golden Eagles" took place at Kubinka airfield. Single aerobatics were performed by Su-35S, Yak-130, Yak-152 aircraft, as well as a Ka-52 helicopter. In total, more than 330 units of military equipment and weapons were involved in dynamic displays. As part of the scientific and business program, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation concluded 46 state contracts with 27 enterprises worth more than 1 trillion rubles.
"Army 2020"
The Forum was held on August 23-29 at the Patriot Center, at Kubinka airfield, at the Alabino training ground and 66 other sites located in military districts and in the Northern Fleet. The events were attended by 1,490,115 people. The forum was attended by representatives of 92 foreign countries, including 18 high-level official delegations. The number of participants in the business program exceeded 11 thousand people. Six states (Belarus, Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and South Ossetia) presented national expositions. Visitors of the forum saw the exhibition "Alley of Tank industry" dedicated to the centenary of Russian tank building. Key enterprises of the Russian defense industry demonstrated more than 1 thousand promising developments of weapons, military and special equipment, samples of high-tech dual-use products. For the dynamic display, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation used more than 320 pieces of equipment.
At the forum, more than 40 state contracts were concluded with 27 enterprises of various industries, the total amount of state contracts exceeded 1,160 trillion rubles.
"Army-2021"
The Forum was held on August 22-28 at its usual venues - at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center, at the Alabino training ground, Kubinka airfield. The forum's events were attended by 1,792,564 people, including representatives of 117 foreign countries, including 36 high-level military delegations. The total number of representatives of foreign military departments was 320 people. 342 units of serial samples of weapons, military and special equipment from the presence of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation were presented at the sites. The exhibition was attended by 60 foreign companies and organizations from 12 countries: Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, France, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Turkey. At the same time, Belarus, Kazakhstan, India and Pakistan presented national expositions. In total, 1,489 enterprises and organizations took part in the exhibition, which presented 28,127 samples and technologies of military and dual-use.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that 87 bilateral meetings were held on the sidelines of the forum, of which 37 were with foreign partners through the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation. 50 bilateral meetings were held between Rosoboronexport JSC and enterprises of the military-industrial complex. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation concluded at the forum more than 40 state contracts with 27 defense industry enterprises in the amount of over 500 billion rubles.
Demonstration flights and performances of aerobatic groups were held at Kubinka airfield. For the first time, the scientific and practical festival of robotics and innovative technologies "Roboarmia" was held within the framework of the forum.
"Army-2022"
In 2022, the forum's events were held from August 15 to 21 at the facilities of the Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation "Patriot", the Alabino training ground, Kubinka airfield, as well as at 35 sites in military districts and the Northern Fleet, in more than 30 subjects of Russia. The number of visitors exceeded 1,950,000 people.
The event was attended by 1,497 enterprises and organizations that presented 28,536 samples of military and dual-use products. Among them are 32 companies from 6 foreign countries (Belarus, India, Iran, China, Thailand and Turkey). Belarus, Iran and China have presented their own national exhibitions. The forum was attended by more than 700 representatives of foreign military departments from 85 countries. Within the framework of the forum, 160 bilateral meetings with foreign partners were held, as well as 340 events of the scientific and business program with the participation of almost 22 thousand experts.
The Russian military Department has concluded 36 state contracts with defense industry enterprises in the amount of over 525 billion rubles. In total, 351 units of serial samples of weapons, military and special equipment from the presence of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation were presented as part of the static display. The captured equipment of the armed formations of Ukraine from the zone of the special military operation was also demonstrated at the exhibition grounds of the Patriot Park.
