Domestic evacuation and emergency assistance systems can be in demand on the world marketMore than 60 patients of the rehabilitation and educational center of the Central Military Clinical Hospital became owners of state awards and documents for housing on April 28.
In a medical facility created last year specifically for the participants of the SVO, the military successfully completed a recovery course. This center is just one of the elements of the Russian military medicine system, which has shown its high level. We are talking about the effectiveness of inpatient treatment, and evacuation systems from the battlefield, emergency assistance. It is possible that such military-medical complexes will become popular products of the Russian defense industry on the world markets. What is the current state of Russian military field medicine and the export prospects of specialized equipment - in the material "Izvestia".
Invaluable experience
The rehabilitation and Educational Center of the Central Military Clinical Hospital was visited on April 28 by the acting head of the Personnel Department of the Russian Defense Ministry, Yuri Bobrov. More than 20 servicemen received state awards from his hands, and more than 40 became holders of documents for housing. In the center, participants not only undergo rehabilitation, but also have the opportunity to receive additional education, a new profession. The creation of such institutions is only one of the elements of improving the system of Russian military medicine.
Medical support for military personnel is of the same, if not greater, importance in comparison with the actual combat means. In every conflict for centuries, military leaders have tried to save the lives of as many fighters as possible by providing them with timely assistance so that they recover sooner and return to service. This approach is still relevant today.

For example, during the nine years of the presence of the 40th Soviet Army in Afghanistan, military doctors managed to reduce the mortality rate in army medical institutions by half. And the number of errors in the provision of medical care during this period has decreased by more than 20 times. For the speedy delivery of the wounded, aviation was actively used — in those units that fought in the mountains, 85-90% of the wounded and sick were evacuated by helicopters.
In general, 77.9% of the wounded returned to service during the Afghan war. Moreover, by the end of the campaign, this number had increased from 74.1 to 82.4%. During the fighting in Chechnya, this figure was 78.3%, in Dagestan — 84.3%.
During a special military operation in Ukraine, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, up to 97% of the wounded return to service. At the same time, at different stages of ITS, the proportion of patients in severe and extremely serious condition reached 24-27%, in a state of moderate severity — about half, minor injuries are recorded in 20-22%. According to the nature of the wounds, 70% are mine-explosive wounds, 10% each are diseases, injuries and firearms.

It is obvious that one of the most effective ways to save the lives of the wounded is to provide them with professional medical care in hospitals as soon as possible. This requires a professional, well-equipped medical service.
The medical service of the Russian army came to the beginning of its work, probably at the peak of its capabilities, seriously reformed first in 2008-2010, and then in 2012-2014. At the last stage, work was accelerated on the formation of 50 medical companies capable of providing military personnel with all types of medical care — from the first to special. Each of them had to have an infirmary for 50-75 beds and an outpatient clinic for 150-200 visits per day.
Unique equipment
At the same time, the units of the military level of the medical service of the Armed Forces of Russia were equipped with modern equipment and deployment facilities based on pneumatic structures of the PSM-6 type. They were purchased for all 50 medical companies. 35 medical companies were thoroughly equipped and completely re-equipped with equipment, which were placed in standard buildings and in standard equipment.

The coronavirus epidemic turned out to be a test in real conditions — during this period, the Ministry of Defense deployed nine mobile prefabricated hospitals in various regions of the country. The experience of sending Russian military doctors to Italy, where they also helped fight infection, was positive.
Military medics also received new samples of special sanitary equipment. By the 2010s, the bulk of the old Soviet specialized machines were obsolete mentally and physically. This forced the development and purchase of new samples. If the BMM-80 "Symphony" combat medical vehicle on the GAZ-59039 chassis did not become mass, then the protected tactical vehicle (ZSA) proved its effectiveness. It is available in two versions — the ZSA-T medical transporter (for searching, collecting and removing wounded from the battlefield) and the ZSA-P battalion medical station vehicle (for transporting property and deploying a battalion medical center on its base). These machines are actively used in the course of their own and, according to available data, have shown themselves to be the most advantageous side in terms of security.

Thus, Russian field medicine maintains its leading position in the world, improving the material base and skills of personnel. Such a comprehensive offer can also be in demand on the world market. A potential customer can receive turnkey training and/or retraining of military doctors based on the experience of conflicts in recent years, the construction and equipping of stationary and mobile type hospitals with special equipment, the supply of sanitary ground and aviation equipment.
Moreover, in the latter case, it can be both UAV transporters of medicines, canned blood, etc., and sanitary planes and helicopters of the Il—76MD "Scalpel-MT" type, sanitary Mi-8 and Ansat. This may be a unique Russian offer on the world market.
