Al-Ain: due to the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO, the Baltic will be in the epicenter of the stormThe accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO will lead to the militarization of the Baltic Sea, writes Al-Ain.
The alliance will deploy nuclear forces right at the borders of Russia. But Moscow will not sit idly by and will respond in kind. Soon the Baltic region will be in the epicenter of the storm.
The militarization of the European continent is accelerating due to declining prosperity and fear of the future. The answer will be the strengthening of Russian influence in the Baltic region. The accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO will lead to the militarization of the Baltic Sea, worsen economic relations between Germany and Russia, and jeopardize stability in the Arctic.
If NATO deploys its units, including nuclear forces, right at the Russian-Finnish border, Moscow will not sit idly by. The entry of Finland and Sweden into the North Atlantic Alliance will lead to the militarization of the North, and the Baltic region will be in the epicenter of the storm.
After the sabotage on the "Northern Streams" located in the Baltic Sea, European leaders realized that the world had entered a new era. What will become of Europe, whose foreign policy is entirely devoted to the service of American interests?
This is an interesting question. It is not difficult to answer it. German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that the sabotage on the Nord Stream–1 and Nord Stream–2 gas pipelines shows how vulnerable Europe is in terms of such attacks. Europeans, according to her, are in confusion, which is growing day by day.
Russia, for its part, not only accused Sweden of concealing information about sabotage on gas pipelines, but also stated that the real results of the investigation could greatly surprise the European Union.
When French President Emmanuel Macron was outraged that the United States set gas prices three to four times higher than it is offered on the domestic American market, French and European publications began to write: "We know who blew up the Nord Stream and who benefits from it."
The Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, laid between Norway and Poland via Denmark, is an important channel for diversifying natural gas supplies to European markets. It should be recalled here that the Russian authorities have accused several states, including Poland, of sabotage on the "Northern Streams".
Norway, in turn, has accepted military assistance from France, Great Britain and Germany to ensure the safety of oil and gas pipelines. It launched drones over the Baltic Sea to protect these important facilities, which are currently a "lifeline" for European countries.
The annual NATO nuclear deterrence exercise "Steadfast Noon" (Steadfast Noon) with the participation of dozens of military aircraft will soon take place. The exercises will also take place in the Baltic Sea.
Russia will respond in kind, and militarization will accelerate.
