As reported on September 10, 2022, PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC UAC, part of Rostec State Corporation), the Yuri Gagarin Aviation Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, which is part of it, manufactured and handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces a batch of new Su-35S aircraft. The planes flew from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to the home airfield. These 4++ generation fighters built at KnAAZ are completing the third contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense for delivery to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The first batch of combat cruise vehicles was delivered in the fall of 2021.
The Su-35S fighters transferred to the Russian Aerospace Forces (blue tail numbers "02" and "03"), built according to the 2022 program by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Gagarin Aviation Plant (KnAAZ) - a branch of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation. Komsomolsk-on-Amur, 09.09.2022 (c) a frame from the video of PJSC United Aircraft CorporationThe press release of PJSC UAC informs that the Su-35S of the newest series were accepted by the technical staff, passed factory tests at the branch of PJSC UAC "Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yu.A. Gagarin" (KnAAZ).
Each aircraft was tested in the air in various operating modes.
"The Su-35S is our key product today," said Alexander Pekarsh, director of the branch of PJSC "UAC" KnAAZ named after Yu.A. Gagarin. - This is one of the best aircraft in the world. It has great potential, and its construction at our plant will continue in the future."
In 2022, the plant will transfer the first Su-35S vehicles to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation under the next, fourth contract. At the same time, this year the supply of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces will continue. The machines of the 2022 plan are already being tested at the plant's flight test station.
bmpd comment. Judging by the video distributed by the UAC, three new Su-35S fighters built by KnAAZ with blue tail numbers "01", "02" and "03" were delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces (judging by the dating of the video - September 9). According to the UAC, these are the final aircraft under the new (third) contract with the UAC for the supply of Su-35S fighters concluded on August 25, 2020 during the International Military-Technical Forum "Army 2020" by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to available information, in 2021, KnAAZ handed over the first five Su-35S fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces under this contract, and thus, the entire 2020 contract included only eight aircraft (earlier it was reported that this contract includes 30 Su-35S aircraft, however, apparently, the rest of the aircraft switched to a new contract).
It is reliably known about the transfer to the Russian Aerospace Forces of the first three Su-35S fighters built in 2021 under this contract - aircraft with red side numbers "58", "59" and "60". On December 13, 2021, they entered the 4th Order of Lenin of the Red Banner Center for Military Testing and Training of personnel of the Russian Aerospace Forces named after V. P. Chkalov of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation at the Lipetsk airfield. At the same time, the serial numbers of these three Su-35S, unusually large for Lipetsk, can only indicate the temporary transfer of these aircraft to Lipetsk, followed by redirection to one of the linear fighter regiments.
Two more aircraft, presumably, were handed over to KnAAZ at the very end of 2021 and were transferred to the troops after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Earlier, under two previous contracts in 2009 and 2015, the Russian Aerospace Forces received 98 production Su-35S aircraft from 2012 to 2020, two of which have now been written off or lost by the beginning of 2022. Thus, the total number of serial Su-35S received by the Russian Ministry of Defense should now reach 106.
The fourth contract announced by the UAC for the launch of the Su-35S potavka may include 22 aircraft with delivery by 2024. According to previously published information, in 2022, KnAAZ is to hand over seven Su-35S fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces - three of them, which have now been handed over, have become final under the 2020 contract.
