The frigate of the Pacific Fleet and Ka-27 helicopters destroyed the submarine of the "enemy" VLADIVOSTOK, Aug 23 - RIA Novosti.
The crew of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet), as part of exercises in the Sea of Japan, together with two Ka-27PL helicopters of naval aviation, found and "destroyed" a submarine of a conditional enemy, the Pacific Fleet reports.
According to the terms of the exercise, it became known that an unidentified submarine may be located near Peter the Great Bay. The frigate's crew came to the designated area and searched for the submarine using standard equipment and two deck-mounted Ka-27 helicopters of the anti-submarine modification of the naval aviation of the fleet.
"As a result of the search by helicopters using sonar stations, it was possible to quickly detect an underwater object and monitor its movement. The combat crews of the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate brought anti-submarine weapons ready for use and conditionally worked out the destruction of the underwater "intruder" with depth charges from the RBU-6000 rocket-propelled grenade launcher," the report says.
The exercises were held in one of the naval training grounds in accordance with the fleet's combat training plan.
