Rostec United Engine Corporation has developed the first Russian GTA-8 power plant for offshore production platforms. The unit is resistant to extreme conditions: salt water, storms and negative temperatures. The first installations will provide power supply to the Arctic ice-resistant platform "Kamennomysskoye-Sea" off the coast of Yamal.
The power plant can run on two types of fuel: gaseous and liquid, which reduces the cost of operation and simplifies maintenance. In total, the platform will receive four GTA-8 units, the total capacity of the power plant will be 32 MW.
"Previously, imported equipment was supplied to Russia for these purposes. Our scientific and production competencies allow us to make full import substitution in this segment. A power plant based on GTD-8 power plants is the first product in the line of units that we are working on creating. The equipment is capable of operating in extreme conditions and will supply energy to offshore ice-resistant platforms. The first delivery is planned in 2023," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
Rostec also develops and manufactures a wide range of ground-based power gas turbine units with a capacity from 2.5 to 25 MW, including gas turbine power plants GTPP-2.5, Ural-6000 and a high-power turbine GTD-110M.
The Kamennomysskoye-More deposit was discovered in 2000. The reserves amount to 535 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Production is planned to begin in 2025 from 42 wells. In the future, several fields in the vicinity of Yamburg (Kamennomysskoye-More, Severo-Kamennomysskoye, Semakovskoye, Tota-Yakhinskoye, Antipayutinskoye, Chugoryakhinskoye, Obskoye, Parusovoye, Severo-Parusovoye) will be developed by an interconnected technological complex with gas transit through the available capacities at the Yamburgskoye field.
