The Armed Forces of Russia (Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) deployed a mobile repair battalion near Crimea. Maria Badunts, a correspondent of Izvestia, told about this on Friday, March 11.
"Cars are repaired very quickly. For example, this self-propelled artillery unit arrived just a few hours ago. Repairmen have already replaced the engines, repaired the gun," she said.
As indicated by specialists in the repair of military equipment, the installation may soon go to its destination.
At the moment, there is an emergency recovery of heavy equipment — armored personnel carriers, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery installations and so on. All spare parts are available. There are no interruptions in their supplies. Together with the military, specialists of those factories who have this equipment under warranty also work.
"Now we have repaired the 2C3 howitzer. The engine was replaced. In the future, we will tie fuel and cooling systems — everything that the engine needs, so that the equipment departs to its place of deployment," explained the commander of the repair department, Sergeant Vladislav.
According to him, there are no difficulties in repairing military equipment in the field. If a person knows how to do this business, then he will cope with it in any situation, the sergeant stressed.
In turn, the commander of the repair and restoration battalion, Major Aghabikyan, said that the 10th separate repair and restoration regiment had deployed the area of comprehensive restoration of weapons and military equipment.
"The forces and means of the regiment allow performing various types of repairs, evacuation and maintenance. Out-of-order military equipment, which is under warranty, is being restored by the manufacturer," the major explained.
As the commander pointed out, the work is carried out by the military both separately and in conjunction with representatives of the plant.
"Manufacturers of military equipment are working in the area of complex restoration together with specialists of repair and restoration battalions. Their task is to restore the equipment that is under warranty," he said.
After the repair, the equipment will be put into operation and will return to its units. In turn, captured combat vehicles, which were abandoned by Ukrainian servicemen during the retreat, are not subject to restoration — it will be put into scrap metal.

In mid-February, due to the aggravation of the situation in the Donbas as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced the evacuation of civilians to the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree. On February 24, he launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov clarified, the special operation pursues two goals - demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
