British Challenger 2 and BMP Warrior tanks deployed in Estonia
The British contingent in Estonia was reinforced with additional Challenger 2 tanks and Warrior infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs). The number of deployed British armored vehicles in the country was named by the Minister of the Armed Forces of Great Britain James Happy, reports UK Defense Journal.
Happy noted that on February 23, there were 43 Warrior infantry fighting vehicles and 18 Challenger 2 tanks in Estonia. According to him, five additional infantry fighting vehicles and six tanks were scheduled to arrive in the country on February 25.
The publication notes that Britain will also use additional aviation. Four Typhoon fighters will be involved in patrolling in Eastern Europe, and Apache attack helicopters will be sent to exercises in the region.
In November 2021, military expert Viktor Murakhovsky called the Chrysanthemum-S the most advanced Russian anti-tank missile system. According to him, the Chrysanthemum-C ammunition provides penetration of the armor of Abrams, Leopard and Challenger tanks.
In September 2021, a demonstration sample of the upgraded Challenger 3 tank was presented at the DSEI-2021 exhibition. The machine received a smoothbore cannon, elements of the Trophy active protection complex and new sights.
