Troops are practicing combat operations at training grounds in the Murmansk region and in the Barents Sea
MURMANSK, February 24. /tass/. Warships, submarines, the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense, as well as coastal troops of the Northern Fleet (SF) are practicing combat training operations in the conditions of the Far North and the Arctic. Training events are taking place at landfills in the Murmansk Region and in the Barents Sea, the press service of the fleet reported on Thursday.
"The crews of ships, submarines, personnel of the Air Force and Air Defense Army, coastal troops of the Northern Fleet continue their planned combat training at training grounds in the Murmansk Region and in the Barents Sea," the report says.
The press service noted that the basic minesweepers "Yadrin" and "Yelnya" worked out combat exercises to search for mines at sea. The small anti-submarine ship Brest completed the tasks of air defense of the minesweeping group. The large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk has left for the Barents Sea, where the crew will work out interaction with anti-submarine aviation.
"Also in the Barents Sea, the crew of the large landing ship Ivan Gren will conduct an exercise with deck-based Ka-27 helicopters. Marines and motorized infantry practice tactics in the conditions of the Far North and the Arctic as part of platoons with firing from standard weapons," the representatives of the SF explained.
