Moscow. February 24. INTERFAX - The crews of the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate and the Gremyashchy corvette of the Pacific Fleet conducted live firing exercises in the Avacha Bay, the press service of the fleet reports.
"The tasks of detecting and destroying detected floating mines in the area of intensive civilian shipping have been worked out. The artillery crews of the ships successfully destroyed the models of sea floating mines with the fire of 30-mm AK-630M shipboard automatic artillery installations," the report says.
According to the press service, the crew of the Ka-27PS search and rescue helicopter of the Naval aviation of the Pacific Fleet conducted an exercise to rescue a person in the water, his ascent aboard the Ka-27 using a special winch, and evacuation to the ship to provide qualified medical care.
"At the final stage of the complex exercise, the officers of the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate and the Gremyashchy corvette conducted test firing from a Makarov pistol at targets on a helicopter pad, and the military personnel under contract conducted training on practical anti-sabotage grenade throwing," the press service of the fleet notes.
In the near future, about 20 warships and support vessels of the Pacific Fleet as part of heterogeneous tactical groups will continue to perform their tasks in the far sea zone. In the period from February 15 to February 25, 2022, a series of naval exercises is being held in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, in the waters of the seas adjacent to the Russian territory, as well as in other areas of the World Ocean under the general leadership of the Commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
The purpose of the exercises is to work out the actions of the Navy forces to protect Russian national interests in the World Ocean, as well as to counter military threats to the Russian Federation from sea and ocean directions.
