SEVASTOPOL, February 14. /tass/. Pilots of a separate mixed aviation regiment of naval aviation and crews of anti-submarine ships of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) conducted joint exercises in the Black Sea to search and track a submarine of a conditional enemy, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet said on Monday.
"Be-12 amphibious aircraft and Ka-27PL helicopters were involved in the exercises. Their crews, in cooperation with small anti-submarine ships, carried out a joint search for the submarine using radio hydroacoustic buoys and other sonar means," the fleet reported.
It is clarified that the main tasks within the framework of the exercises were joint actions for the search, continuous tracking and conditional destruction of a submarine at long and short distances, as well as the organization of continuous data exchange on the maneuvering of an underwater target. To create a real tactical situation, one of the Black Sea Fleet submarines acted as a conditional enemy.
It is added that the exercises were conducted in preparation for major naval exercises under the overall leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
Earlier it was reported that in accordance with the training plan of the armed forces of the Russian Federation for 2022, a series of naval exercises is being held in January-February in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the overall leadership of the Commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. The main focus of the exercises is to work out the actions of the Navy and Aerospace Forces to protect Russian national interests in the world Ocean, as well as to counter military threats to Russia from sea and ocean directions.
