Moscow. February 2. INTERFAX-AVN - Tagil Division of Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) began exercises with the withdrawal of autonomous launchers of strategic complexes "Yars" on combat patrol routes, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
As stated in the message, the training exit to the field positions of the missile regiment with "Yars" takes place in the Sverdlovsk region. The military, in particular, are working out tasks to counter conventional saboteurs.
"Tactical exercises have begun in the Tagil missile compound, during which strategic rocket scientists are working out an extensive list of tasks and introductory ones, including maneuvering actions with the widespread use of large-sized equipment in wooded areas, countering sabotage formations," the report says.
"According to the plan of the exercises, "sabotage groups" will operate on the distant approaches to the field positions of the missile regiment of the Yars mobile missile system and plan to mine road sections on combat patrol routes," the Defense Ministry said.
In particular, drones that are part of the Typhoon-M combat vehicle are used to combat conditional saboteurs at the exercises, the military said.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced an exercise in the Teikovo Division of the Strategic Missile Forces (Ivanovo region).
"During the exercise, strategic rocket scientists are working out the issues of bringing missile systems to field positions, making marches up to 100 km long, dispersing units with a change of field positions, their engineering equipment, organization of camouflage and combat protection," the report says.
In the Ivanovo region, about 1 thousand servicemen and more than 100 pieces of equipment were involved in the exercises of the Strategic Missile Forces, the Defense Ministry said.
On January 25, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that in the Ivanovo region, as part of the exercise, launchers of the mobile version of the Yars complex also entered the combat patrol routes.
The Strategic Missile Forces is a branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the main component of its strategic nuclear forces. The strategic missile forces are designed for nuclear deterrence of possible aggression.
The basis of the RVSN grouping is made up of modern Yars complexes in mine and mobile versions. "Yars" is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 11 thousand km, it is equipped with a separable head with maneuvering blocks of individual guidance.
