Thermal imagers of various types have been actively used in various branches of the leading armies of the world for a long time. Therefore, the developers of targets and all kinds of false targets are trying to make their products at landfills look like real when using such sights and surveillance devices.

For example, the Australian company GaardTech, repeatedly mentioned, built imitations of Soviet combat reconnaissance and patrol vehicles of the second generation for one customer from NATO (presumably the UK).
The car really resembles the original, including radiating heat like a real "mess" with the engine running.
It is known that the BRDM-2 continues to be operated in the armed forces of almost fifty countries, including European ones, only in Poland there are more than 280 pieces and about 430 in Ukraine.
But the ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" presented last year looks much worse.
The quality of manufacturing of the rotating tower has failed. It turned out to be too angular and more resembles samples of early modifications that are no longer in service anywhere and are found only in museums. The radar antenna, which is in the working position, is also very carelessly executed.
It is reported that these products, as well as models of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, rocket launchers, thanks to the wheeled chassis, can move independently (although on relatively flat terrain) and have remote control. All this makes it possible to depict the technique of a potential opponent in various episodes of training battles.
