Moscow. January 31. INTERFAX - Missile ships and aircraft of the Northern Fleet (SF) have worked out anti-submarine tasks in the Norwegian Sea as part of an exercise with the Arctic expeditionary group, the press service of the SF reported.
"The crews of the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov and the frigate Admiral of the Kasatonov Fleet, using an anti-submarine helicopter, searched for submarines of a conditional enemy. The sailors improved the tactics of searching for a submarine in various ways using on-board sonar systems, as well as according to information from pilots," the report says.
It is noted that the pilots of the upgraded Ka-27M anti-submarine helicopter, taking off from the frigate Admiral of the Kasatonov Fleet, carried out a set of measures to search for submarines using radio equipment and an onboard sonar station.
In January-February, a series of naval exercises is held in all areas of responsibility of the fleets under the general leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
The exercises will cover the waters of the seas adjacent to the Russian territory, as well as operationally important areas of the World Ocean. Separate exercises will be held in the waters of the Mediterranean, Northern, Okhotsk Seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean.
