According to the head of Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko, the multipurpose nuclear submarine of the 885M project is the lowest-noise submarine of the Russian Navy. The first such ship entered service in May last year.
The relatively high noise level remained one of the main problems of Soviet submarines for a long time. It was partially solved in the 80s. It is assumed that the new Russian boats do not suffer from this. At the same time, it is obvious that they differ in this indicator from each other.
Which Russian submarine is the least noisy? The answer to this question was given by the CEO of Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko. "Today it is the lowest-noise submarine of the Russian Navy. The Kazan submarine is a huge step into the future, a cruiser of the XXI century, " he said in an interview with the magazine "Plant", which is referred to by RIA Novosti.
According to the head of Sevmash, the K-561 Kazan is significantly different from the lead submarine of the project — the K-560 Severodvinsk. The boat belongs to the upgraded project 885M, acting as its first representative. It should be noted that at the end of the year, the second such ship, the K—573 Novosibirsk, entered service.
The Kazan itself was accepted into the combat fleet in May last year. According to Budnichenko, it introduced advanced information technologies in electronic weapons, which made it possible to increase the efficiency and quality of combat control.
The submarine of project 885 "Yasen" (885M "Yasen-M") is a multi-purpose nuclear submarine with cruise missiles, which belongs to the fourth generation. The lead ship was transferred to the fleet in 2014. Russia is currently building six such boats.
Submarines of the 885M project will become carriers of the latest hypersonic missile "Zircon". The first full-time underwater carrier of this complex is called "Perm", laid down in 2016. Earlier, "Zircon" has already been launched from a submarine. During the tests, Severodvinsk conducted target shooting in the Barents Sea.

In addition to the boats of the 885/885M project, Russia has armed itself with another type of fourth-generation submarine. We are talking about the strategic missile submarine project 955 "Borey", the development of which was the project 955A "Borey-A".
At the end of the year, another such boat was handed over to the Navy - the Prince Oleg. She became the fifth ship of the series and the fourth, if we talk about the modernized project. Each such ship carries 16 solid-fuel ballistic missiles R-30 "Bulava-30". For self-defense, submarines have bow torpedo tubes.
