The US Navy presented the appearance of the promising destroyer DDG(X), which will become one of the main warships of the American fleet in the future. It will receive extremely powerful laser weapons and hypersonic missiles.
The US Navy has unveiled the appearance of a promising destroyer of the DDG(X) project. The lead ship is planned to be laid in 2028. Americans want to combine promising and existing technologies: this applies, in particular, to the power plant and weapons.
Earlier, plans were announced to equip ships of this type with hypersonic missiles. They also intend to supply it with laser complexes that will be ten times more powerful than existing weapons of this type.
Now the US Navy uses destroyers of the Arleigh Burke type (the main ship of this class in the US Navy) and the latest Zumwalt destroyers.
The latter, due to their high cost, were purchased only three. These ships systematically face various technical problems. Nevertheless, the Americans have far-reaching plans for them. As it became known, it is Zumwalt who is seen among the first carriers of the new hypersonic weapon.
